Journal Square, Bergen Square

Almost eight years living here. The rent cannot be beat in terms of affordability. Goldberg is a decent landlord. Rent control helps by far, and I even got a newly refurbished apartment! Most of the issues with living here have to do with the pollution and investment of the city in Journal Square related areas. Two issues in particular are the poor roads, and a lack of small restaurant business investment. These two issues can be controlled but are ignored from what I believe is a prejudice of the city in investing. Perhaps the same can be said of the remaining southern part of Jersey City. Perhaps even still that will change with further development. All things are changing very rapidly both here and, in the world. These issues will more than likely be overshadowed by bigger things like tidal surge downtown. God help us. Still a nice place.

Maintenance work is so slow. The one elevator that’s being installed hasn’t been worked on for over a week. The one remaining elevator is having trouble and there’s no one around to check it. Feel abandoned.

Need Improvement

The apt.has accessible location.but the building is very old.the new maintenance stuff irresponsible.I hope the management will do something about it& they will do some improvements on the building coz the rent is expensive.
