Resident for over 6 years
Desoto Estates II is a good properly overall. There are some issues that I had personally that caused me to not rate perfect on some of the scoring. It is close to shopping and schools. The apartment allows pets which has negative and positive qualities. Barking dogs are sometimes a problem as well as one specific tenant that allows their pets to defecate in the parking garage, which they don't pick up. Noise is minimal but cabinets can be heard closing if the person allows them to bang shut. Value was one of the items I scored low on because of the new ownership. It seems that if you want to stay longer, they penalize you with paying more a month than if you choose 10 months for example). Previous ownership allowed a 2 year lease with a lowered rate because you were staying longer. Desoto Estates rewards you for choosing a lower lease time but that is only so they can raise the rent when your time comes due. I don't think that what I pay a month is fair for the size of my 1 bedroom. Also, they now charge you for water, sewage, maintenance, and garbage where as the previous owners included all of that in your rent.

Maintenance is good when requested but hallways are never cleaned, outside rocks are full of weeds and shrubs are extremely overgrown.

Good place overall. Rarely gets cleaned both garage and inside hallways. Price has gone up a lot, too.
Quite and affordable
Desoto estates is quite, centrally located and affordable.
Is now Goldmark
Lived in this place for over 5 years. Recently , under the new owners, they regulate the amount of water you use when it wasn't before. Neighbors are noisy at 7 am with slamming doors and I can hear cabinets closing from other apartments. When maintenance or someone entered your apartment they don't notify you that they are coming or that they entered your apartment.
