The Quarter House Apartments

I lived here for 10 months and do not recommend signing a lease here. It is common practice for maintenance here to let themselves in your apartment without warning or permission. I had huge issues with this (as a woman living alone) and emailed with the property manager every time it happened. It happened to me a total of 10 times— including while i was at home asleep in bed and in the bathtub. I had no other choice but to vacate my lease after the last offense in which maintenance let themselves in without knocking while i was asleep in bed and i woke up to a strange man in my apartment…. They are a joke. Also, its hilarious that their big draw is claiming to be super dog friendly bc it is anything but that— theres hardly any grass surrounding the main building other than the neglected dog park. I emailed them 5 times requesting the code to the dogwash station (a huge draw for me when i signed my lease) and NEVER got a code nor did i ever get to use it. Beyond disappointed in this facility. I loved my apartment here, but not worth all the trouble it came with at all.

Here is a recap of my experience living at The Quarter House. Fire Alarm: during my 7 months of living at The Quarter House, the fire alarm has been set off over 6 times. This has caused a great amount of distress on my dog, despite the property being posed as the dog-friendly option to live in Jackson. Building Quality: the walls and floors of the units and property are poorly built and quite thin. Neighbors on all sides are always heard with normal living noises, and doors slamming constantly throughout the night in the hallways. Pipes inside of the walls of both my kitchen and primary bathroom constantly knock when other units utilize water. Handles on cabinets and fixtures are constantly breaking. Dog Park: the park is touted as the largest dog park in Jackson, but not maintained well and has very poor draining. Residents need to wait several days after a rain to use the park with their pets. The provided pet stations for pet droppings are often not stocked. The park is often littered with cigarettes and trash. Dog Wash House: the hot water did not work in the dog wash house for the first 5 months I lived here despite requests for it to be fixed from myself and other residents. This was one amenity that ultimately sold me on The Quarter House. Pool: though the pool area is nice, it was built so that the sun does not cover the area after around 4pm, which is the most common time after a workday when a resident could enjoy the amenity. Cleanliness: the common areas of the property are mopped and swept, yet other common areas are left untended to with clumps of dog hard and stains throughout. Correspondence: I have been disappointed with the professionalism in the communication to residents from management. Monthly rent reminders include reminders of legal ramifications even before the due date. Late rent reminders are sent to all residents, even those who pay the day it is due. The communication has been tactless and off putting.

I have officially lived here a week and so far I am LOVING it! The staff is friendly, the amenities are top tier, my pup loves the dog park, and I love how safe I have felt. I can honestly say that The Quarter House Apartments feels like home.
