I have not even been here for a month, and I have felt really disappointed in my experience, so far. I was impressed, initially, with how prompt the staff was and how beautiful the apartment and amenities looked. I made my decision to move here, because this set my expectation for this to be a super seamless transition. But since the day I was *meant* to move in, I have been dismissed, ignored, and forgotten about. I work in healthcare, which a very vulnerable, marginalized population of people. I made my property manager aware of a really intense mix of black, pink, and green mold that I have found in my washing machine, bathroom, vents, etc.. I have complained of the mold migraine I immediately get upon arriving home. I have invested 30 hours, on my hands and knees, scrubbing this apartment. But to no avail, as I am only one person and do not have professional cleaning equipment and resources. I have begged and plead to have this remediated, evening typing out a very formal letter, and referencing tenant law, but I am dismissed. I feel incredibly disheartened by the lack of care, and consideration, for not just myself... but the patients that I service in the St. Louis community. If I wash my clothes in moldy water, there will be spores alive in my clothes. And the thought of exposing a pregnant woman or a newborn baby would sicken me, figuratively and literally,

I have lived in Steelyard for close to 5 years and a lot has changed for the better over the years--better front office staff, maintenance team, and admin experience. It's a very nice property with a lot to offer in gorgeous Soulard. However, the property must invest in some TLC to make it very nice and worth the rent. For example, we must repaint the walls and replace the carpet in the stairwells...it smells, there are stains, and it looks gross. Some of the outdoor amenities are broken and need to be replaced like pool loungers and televisions. Once an investment is made in updating, cleaning, and replacing some of these amenities are done, this is a perfect place to live.
