Cutting the tall grass in the fall was a mistake
I've had less privacy due to cutting the grass in the fall. If it needs to be cut, it would be better to cut in in the spring when it grows back quickly.
Great place and location
So far love living here. Staff is friendly, the building is clean and well-maintained, and the location is great. Parking is also easy for guests.
Noko Review
We love the Nokomis area and living on the 3rd floor-northeast side provides a great corner view! We do not use the community areas often, except for the hot tub, when it is warm(after a ski at Hiawatha) and the grills. We love these two areas the most. Occassionally, we have hosted scheduled parties and reserved the Community Room and Sky room, which worked out so well. We appreciate using the spare apartment for our guests. Centerspace staff is great! We appreciate the prompt replies and especially when we can talk in person! :) So many thanks to staff that work hard to attend to the residents needs. The building, although new, has begun to settle. The building has less sparkle, than two years ago. There is increased cosmetic wearing and everything is beginning to appear and smell less nice. Chipped paint, walls, halls and stairwells. Tired carpet, stains. Debris here and there. The dirt and debris are attaching onto the spiders webs outside the entire building. (so the clean windows lasted all of 2 weeks) Take a peek around and you can see. A Fall and Spring pest control treatment, quarterly full carpet cleaning, caulking and fresh paint would help it all stay fresh and bright!
Quite, Cozy, Friendly
Beautiful area to live, quite building. Staff and residents are warm and friendly. You gotta love the dogs here.
Clean but noisy
I have lived in the building for over two years. There are some great qualities, like the proximity to Lake Nokomis, the Lunds and Byerly's below, and Starbucks. The building has a great cleaning staff that make the rounds nearly every day. In general, the building is very nice because it is brand new. There are some serious negatives though. Parking in the ramp is $150 a month, or you can park on Longfellow Ave. My car has been hit twice parked on Longfellow--it's busy road. The units don't have soft close cabinets or drawers so expect to hear every time your neighbors are cooking or close a drawer in their bathroom. Units also share walls kitchen to bedroom, which makes the cabinet issue a serious problem if your neighbor is an early riser or night owl. Speaking of noise, on the 'back side' of the building, if you face the golf course, you'll be woken up to back up beeps from trucks every morning at 6 am year round from the city's maintenance yard. If you are on the Cedar Ave side you'll be treated to people honking and yelling at each other at the intersection. Semis also deliver food to Lunds every morning at 5:30 am every day and need to back up to get into the loading dock. In general, if you are anything but a super, super deep sleeper, this might not be the place for you. I know because I moved units to get away from the noise only to find it worse in my new unit. I am slowly going insane from the beeps. I do not plan to renew my lease again.
