In a nod to Portland’s past and future, The Linden borrows its name from the Linden tree — a slow growing tree that, given time and proper conditions, becomes quite majestic. Planted originally in 1920 to honor those who served in World War I, over time the trees have come to symbolize the inevitable rejuvenation and growth of the area. Physically rooted overlooking the Lindens along the iconic Back Cove, the property’s recent reconfiguration mirrors this metaphorical growth with newly remodeled apartment homes and a community welcoming to all.
The Linden includes newly remodeled, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and even a number of rare four-bedroom apartment homes. With a variety of floor plans and rental rates, and an incredible list of amenities, we encourage you to contact us if you’re interested in laying down roots here.

The Linden

This apartment complex boasts some truly wonderful features, and I've found much to appreciate during my time here. However, there are a few significant drawbacks that impact its overall value. The proximity to the highway, while convenient for commuting, unfortunately results in a constant, noticeable traffic noise. This significantly detracts from the peaceful enjoyment of the property, especially during peak hours. Furthermore, while the units themselves are well-appointed, the current rental rates seem rather inflated compared to similar properties in the area. This high cost, coupled with the noise issue, leads to a perception of lower overall value. On a positive note, the on-site staff have consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism and are always willing to assist residents. They are a genuine asset to this complex. However, reaching the Port Property management office directly has proven to be consistently challenging. Their phone lines are frequently busy, and on several occasions, I’ve found them to be completely unavailable. This makes addressing any concerns or maintenance requests through the appropriate channels a frustrating and time-consuming process. In summary, while this complex offers attractive features and dedicated on-site staff, the persistent traffic noise and elevated rental rates detract significantly from the experience. Improving the responsiveness of the Port Property management office would greatly enhance residents’ experience and contribute to a more positive perception of value.

Very Satisfied

I have a unique experience as I had unfortunately a major health misfortune. Port Properties accommodated my new disability in a timely manner from one of their locations to this one. From the need of an elevator, to the washer and dryer being right in my apartment. They made my scary transition a much easier process with empathy and compassion. The Office Staff have been wonderful to me. The maintenance crew are extremely friendly and very trustworthy, The Majority of the Neighbors and their Fur Babies have also been a blessing to my healing. I am very blessed and grateful to Port Properties for providing me a wonderful place I can call Home!

Maintenance needs improvement.

Low on maintenance. I have spent a half hour in trash area just to neatly put garbage in .

Life in the city

Ist experience with urban living. Much noisier than suburban, but enjoy the nearby parks and stores within walking distance.

This place could be so great

Some things have been really pleasant: I like that you fixed the trash situation. Other things have been less easy to understand. We must have 24 hour patrolling security. If that won't fit into the normal budget, the owners need to cough it up. We also need access from more than just one door, something that would be easier to do if we had a security guard. There is no reason for the dog park to be permanently closed. If people are leaving dog poop, I expect you to hire a poop cleaner. Also, the place is downright dingy. It needs to be cleaned at least twice a week, and if that's already being done, it needs to be even more often. Finally, we have some disabled residents who smoke. I understand the problems with cigarette smoke, but asking people to make do in the makeshift smoking area is too difficult. Disabled people at a minimum ought to be able to smoke in the courtyard. More broadly, we need to be told you're aware of all this stuff and that you're actually going to upgrade/fix it. Customer service speak and plausible deniability won't work anymore. I might be willing to stay here long term if the super-basic, inexcusably bad stuff I have listed here - all caused by underinvestment - is addressed.
