Love It

I've lived here for three years and am renewing my lease for a fourth. Rent just increased the most I have ever seen it, but it is in line with the average rent I have seen in the area. The building just renovated the hallways and elevators. It was a pain while the renovations were ongoing, but well worth it. The staff is AMAZING. Folks at the front desk are really nice and very helpful. Maintenance responds to requests in a reasonable time frame. The community is great. It's a quite area with a lot of older folks, a few young families and some college students. It's right near the Metro stop and a bus hub, so lots of public transportation options nearby. It's also near quite a few parks and restaurants. Two grocery stores are within a 10 minute walk and several more are within driving distance. This is a great place to live.

Positive on the whole, BUT VERY DISAPPOINTED!

For the most part, living here has been a positive experience. Unfortunately, the elevators have been largely disfunctional for the past year. My husband is disabled (amputated leg) and he has had to climb up and down 17 flights of stairs due to the malfunctioning elevators. As we are getting ready to move out, Management has refused to waive the penalty for leaving early ... they claim that it is "the cost of doing maintenance" ... FUNNY! It seems to me that "the cost of doing maintenance" should be borne by the Landlord and NOT the tenants ... what a farce! While many staff members are very kind and helpful, we had hoped that Management would be more understanding -- especially with my 93 year old father-in-law moving in with us! (He would not be able to "do" the stairs to cover "the cost of doing maintenance"!) -- but, VERY SADLY, Management refuses to work with us on this and actions like this DO reflect on the attitude and underlying motivation and 'spirit' of this place. I say "VERY SADLY" as much of experience here has been rather positive on the whole.
