The Catawba Apartments are located at 80 Locust Ave, just off of Route 9 near the Worcester/ Shrewsbury line. This location means a short walk to Umass, or White City, with Shrewsbury St, and Quinsigamond State Park also being just a short distance away. You’ll find a good mix of 1 and 2 BR units, all of which include heat and hot water, and are extremely spacious. All units include ample parking, and many have a balcony off of the living room. This area offers a true neighborhood feel with the convenience of being right in the city.

Good value, but

Heat is included which is a huge plus, the laundry is expensive and hard to use which is a huge downside (one washer for an entire building of people, dryer barely works). The hot water has stopped working a handful of times and the fire alarm goes off at random. The cabinets and blinds provided are very cheap and start showing signs of wear and tear pretty early on. The building is quiet and smoke free, never had a problem with neighbors. Parking being free is a huge plus. The apartment is small but cheaper than a lot of the other options, although rent goes up every single year so eventually it might not be a good deal. Some people have been forced to move due to the rising cost.

Great for Price

Very convinent location, lots of parking, maintenance comes within the next work day. Only complaint is noise levels from other tenants and non friendly neighbors.

Locust Ave apartments

These apartments are a good value for the price point and provide everything that would be needed to live comfortably in this area. We have experienced several items within our apartment that were broken when we had moved in, which is inconvenient but not a major problem. The buildings overall are quiet, parking is great and in building laundry is very handy. Overall Locus Ave apartments have been a wonderful place to move to!
