123 Highland- Good/avg

I've lived here for a year. What I most like about this community is that it is quiet and I've never had problems in the public mail and laundry areas. This is a main street, however, so there is a lot of noise coming from out there. Things I would change are to have a few more amenities, make sure maintenance stays on top of public facilities such as the elevator, and that items come in the apartment such as blinds remain updates (mine had a couple of broken blinds when I moved in). I would recommend living here. Very easy to get around using public transport and a friendly quiet community.

Terrible Noise, Mediocre Maintenance

We learned that there was a young child living above us shortly after moving in. The noise was bad, and got even worse when we confronted the parents. Very unfortunate situation. We had some small quality issues with door handles, towel racks, ect... We brought this up and the issues were either dismissed or broke again days later due to incomplete or incorrect repairs. One of the employees entered the apartment without notice or permission. I had noise canceling headphones on, and out of nowhere then there were people in my apartment. Very shocking... I'm glad I was wearing pants... The bike room and the exercise rooms were nice. The laundry was decent, but I had to pay by a proprietary card system and the washers were never clean. Cloths were left smelling bad. The main issue was just the insane noise. The young child (3ish) would be awake and stomping around well past 9pm (at the earliest) and as late as midnight. The first time we went up to talk with them, the kid was riding a outdoor scooter up and down the hall way. The parents refuse to take action and the property management was apologetic but did not take action. My wife is a childcare professional, so we thought we could handle the noise, but they made our lives a living hell... I'm so glad we made it out and I will never rent again without verifying who's above us. This building has a high turnover rate as far as I can tell, so renters beware.

Wish I didn't have to go!

I've been at this property for just about a year and I will say it's been an absolute pleasure!! My apartment is beautifully renovated and the design is very thoughtful. Ned (the super) is amazing and so kind. He handles any issue quickly and thoroughly. It's a great location with many things within walking distance, which was great since I didn't have a car. Highly recommend if you are thinking about Highland Ave.
