The location is excellent, the garage needs to be cleaned up. Would prefer packages to be left in locked location, rather than in the building by the door, for larger boxes that will not fit into a locker that requires a code.

Lakefront Bliss

I've been living at Oglesby Towers for over 5 years. The South Shore North community is progressing slowly but there are many new venues coming in the near future. This does give a bit of excitement to see a community go through rebirth. Transportation is a big plus in this immediate area. My apartment if located perfectly for me to enjoy the lakefront view, and "car-watch". I find myself looking out the window on a calm morning and just taking note of the different type of cars entering DuSable Lake Shore Drive. I would recommend family or friends to this community especially on the north-east end of South Shore, It is a great area for senior, not necessarily for children. Oglesby Towers is a very old building. Much upgrading is needed, and I see that some of those needs are in progress now. There are a couple negative that I can strongly point out. One would be to update the windows. Being right at the lake front the windows are not insulated enough to keep out the cold, which causes the heat to escape or not be felt in the apartments. Lastly, security personnel have been very polite, but stern (needed), however, we need them to assist the manager's office in securing packages delivered. A system for parcel pending is in force but there are some tenants that are not registered, hence packages left unattended, and sometimes taken. There was a room available for these packages and tenants would have to come down and pick up their items at designated times with ID. Our neighbors at the Quadrangle has this system in play, and it works very well. I know logistics is a problem but just a thought to consider. The manager we have at this writing has done an excellent job at keeping communication going in order to keep us abreast of maintenance updates, invitations to fellowship. He is a strong yet compassionate listener, especially to senior. I express to tenants that I encounter that he is the "liaison", not the owner, Do your surveys to be heard.
