Review

Good- Some annoying noise from people renting the courtyard. Otherwise, no issues.

Too expensive for what you get

Buena Terrace was a nightmare when I first moved in, there was raw sewage coming up from the tub drain every time I tried to turn on the shower and the shower head did not work at all. Maintenance had to call a plumber to come fix it and it took them 3-4 days to alleviate the problem. On the 2nd day of their work I came home and found my toilet in the living room and the bathroom sink completely disconnected as well. I had to use friends and family’s places to shower and even use the bathroom. Ovi, the maintenance guy, was the only good thing about this experience. He worked diligently to fix the pipes with the plumber and Krissy gave me a credit for half off one months rent. That was quite a conundrum considering I had to use friends apartment’s down the street just to use the bathroom. The building is old and has a distinct smell to it. There is no AC and my windows have bars on them so I couldn’t put a window unit in to cool down. The building can get quite stuffy and management did not provide me with a solution to cool my apartment. For the past 10 months, I’ve been trying to make the best of it, however, it’s hard when the building is seriously lacking in amenities. There are hundreds of people that live in the building and only five washers and four dryers to serve all of them. There are paid parking spots but they are limited and $200 a month. The apartment itself is a decent size but I would not pay more than $1500 a month which is why I’m moving. Horizon realty is raising the rent. The floors are fine but the cabinetry and sinks are very old. There’s no dishwasher despite there being plenty of room for one, and the water temp in all of the sinks and shower is very inconsistent, ranging from scalding hot to freezing cold when taking a shower. The bathroom reeks of raw sewage. The one nice thing about this property is the courtyard which was recently renovated. I would only recommend this property to someone if they can’t find anything better for the price.

Great location close to the lake

Quiet apartments, near multiple bus lines and the Red/Purple lines at Wilson, multiple grocery shopping options, and a very responsive staff with great communication.

Neighbors

My neighbors have loud parties… I usually wouldn’t care as much but like it’s basically screaming.
