Hyde Park Welcome to one of Chicagos most celebrated communities! Home to a globally-renown university and a former president of the United States, Hyde Park is locally known as a hub for intellectuals and cultural enthusiasts. In part thanks to the constant influx of students, the neighborhood has historically been very socially and politically active. Aside from that unique characteristic, residents are also very lucky to live in such an iconic place, where buildings from the Worlds Columbian Exposition of 1893 still remain and a plethora of green spaces and historic districts abound. Stroll over the Garden of the Phoenix on a sunny day, support local business by popping in and buying a gift or two for loved ones, or take one of many CTA buses, trains, or the Metra Electric Line to explore other parts of the city. Hyde Park is also a bikers paradise, making it a pleasure to get to know both the community itself, or venture out beyond its boundaries. Things to Do Recreation: 57th St. Beach, Promontory Point, Seven Ten Lanes (bowling alley) & many community parks Culture: The Annual 57th Street Art Fair (June), Hyde Park Art Center, & Court Theatre Museums: Museum of Science & Industry, Smart Museum of Art, & Oriental Institute Museum Shopping: 57th Street Books, First Aid Comics, Encore Resale Store (non-profit), The Silver Umbrella (consignment shop), & Kimbark Beverage Shoppe For Foodies: Uncle Joes Jerk Chicken, Ja Grill (Jamaican), Rajun Cajun (Indian/Cajun), Medici on 57th (American), & Plein Air Caf (French) Drinks: Woodlawn Tap, Cove Lounge (daily specials), & The Promontory (open-hearth cooking)

Happy in Hyde Park

I have lived here almost 5years and absolutely love the area!! I feel safe, University police everywhere and CPD, I can walk my dog 10;30 pm no problem. Location is centrally located to north side and south side, but you don't have to travel, community has all your needs.

Cool place to live

I have lived here approximately 4 Years and I must say that I almost have no complaints. There are only 2 negative aspects of apartment, which are no central air or in unit washer/dryer that would make these units perfect. There is pay washer/dryer in basement but you have to go outside to access basement. I love my unit it has renovated/updated bathroom and kitchen, decent in size. I love I have access to my own deck and a back yard. The location is perfect, walkable to downtown hyde park , in the middle of southside and downtown. Staff responds to request quickly and are polite.
