I love the charm and feel of an older building, it’s clean, Felipe (the building super) is very friendly, having access to an elevator is great, and the street/surrounding neighborhood is nice! The secure package room is also a plus. However, water to the building is shut off incredibly frequently for emergency plumbing issues and these shutoffs can last the whole day. The freight elevator is also for some reason allowed to be used as a passenger elevator by tenants so at all times of the day and night, there is an incredibly loud booming noise as well as sounds of the motor that echo through the walls whenever someone calls the elevator. Since it’s so sporadic, it’s annoying during the day and incredibly disturbing at night if you happen to be in the room closest to the elevator. If you’re a light sleeper, unless they plan on replacing the freight elevator, I’d probably think hard about that before moving in.

Water is shut off at least once a month, maintenance (which we pay $30/month for) is not responsive, they don't fix issues, and if you don't stay reaching out to them they won't ever come address your issues (again they don't ever fix the issues per se, but eventually they come address them). The fobs for the building regularly shut off and staff is not responsive in getting it fixed. I don't understand where my $30 for maintenance goes. Also, the hike in rent 10+% yr/yr is ludacris given how my quality of living has decreased over time, not improved. If I could afford to move, I would leave in a heartbeat. My stars for parking are mid because there was no option to skip that section (I don't have a car so parking is irrelevant for me).

I really love living here. This location and price is the best of the best. I do think maintenance could do a better job of being responsive though.

I have lived in this apartment for 4 years. It has been an overall nice experience. The building is nice, and its age gives my apartment added character, making it feel more homey, which I love. The staff is nice and responds fairly quickly to requests. The amenities are all good but without many frills.
