Recent fire incident, lack of communication

The location of this building is a highlight, but it ends there as far as positives. There has been at least one unexpected large-scale maintenance project per year and a recent fire incident in the building. The property management company didn't follow up with any detail about the fire, which is concerning. There was a loud project replacing some of the facade over about 6 weeks in the summer, where the workers hacked up the landscaping and left the windows covered in dust and dirt with no cleanup following.

Good Apt & Location, Old Building

Good location on a major bus route and near the Brown Line, and I never had a problem street parking within a half block. Little to no complaints about the apartment itself, which was retrofitted with central A/C & heat. My limited experiences related to maintenance was pretty quick and painless. It kind of comes with the territory when renting an apartment in an old building, but the main complaint is the comically loud, creaky and thin floors, which only really applies if you have an upstairs neighbor. At least in my experience, every single step my upstairs neighbor took was met with a loud creak that made it sound like you're living in a haunted house. My sleep schedule was essentially tied to theirs the time that I lived here, but that might not be universal for everybody's experience based on who their neighbors are and their tolerance for that type of thing. Overall, it's a nice apartment and area, but based on my preferences at least, I would really only recommend if you could snag a top level unit

Good location, but building experience going downhill

This apartment building is in a great location and has ample parking, but the staff fails to adequately address resident concerns in terms of intra-building relations between neighbors. The responsiveness of and communication by the management company is lacking. Additionally, when they "updated" the units there was little attention to detail. For example, the floors were refinished, but wall paint was splattered all over it when they repainted. The wrong sized appliances are crammed into the kitchen, ceiling light fixtures were installed crooked, and the duct work was not covered and is also dented.

Great place to live

I've lived in this building for 4 years and my experience has been great. The Peak maintenance team is always responsive to requests and resolves issues quickly. It's in a great location in a quiet neighborhood with easy street parking. The shared yard is a nice bonus, the only thing the building is missing is balconies!

Great location

My wife and I have lived at this apartment now for two years (just re-signed for a third) and we absolutely love the location. The apartment itself has nice appliances, floors and is perfect for our needs. Just a short 5-8 minute walk to the Addison brown line CTA stop makes commuting to and from work very easy. The neighborhood is perfect with lots of incredible bars and restaurants just a few steps away. We love it here!
