I had a wonderful experience living here. The rent was very affordable for the area. The location is incredible-- 15 minutes walking to Michigan Ave shopping, Lincoln Park, right down the block from Oak Street Beach and many grocery stores plus well connected to public transit. I will truly miss the location and everything the area has to offer. In my opinion, this is the best location in all of Chicago! However, parking was minimal and expensive so not ideal if you have to drive to work. AND the garbage trucks banging down the alley woke me up every other day. There was no routine to when they would come because the city trucks would come, then recycling trucks, then the private trucks servicing the apartments would come. So it was definitely LOUD. I lived in the garden which was dark, but it was honestly pretty spacious and well kept and not too bad in the summer because I would just walk less than 5 minutes to Oak Street Beach. Maintenance was always timely. Overall, a fantastic experience and I will miss this apartment dearly.

I have loved living here solely for the location. 5 min walk to the lakefront. Beautiful neighborhood. Close to public transportation. However, every single day of the week I am woken up by the garbage trucks in the alley. They are incredibly loud. It's also a rather dark space that gets very little natural light because the windows open up to the brick wall of the apartment next to it. However, you get what you pay for and it's a great price for the location.

I looked at dozens, maybe even hundreds of apartments during my search. Peak properties offered the best value for the location.

The building manager is a very difficult to work with. Absolutely no storage space and 1 bedroom flats only have one closet. They advertise the cool fireplaces but none of them work and have not been maintained. The neighborhood is extremely noisy and happens to be on the pathway to the beach so in the summer you have to deal with hordes of teenagers heading to the beach that urinate and defecate on your property and scream for hours. If you are in a back apartment you are awakened daily by garbage trucks and if you are in a front apartment you are subjected to all the delivery trucks from CVS. It's close to everything that is for sure.
