The Mav - Channelside

The Mav has all a remote worker could dream of. From a true coworking space, to a skydeck and sky lounge with a great view of downtown Tampa. I have been throroughly impressed by all that the Mav has to offer.

Good, but not Great...

This is a very beautiful property, don't get me wrong. However, after spending more than a year here I feel it necessary to address glaring issues. I was one of the first tenants here at The Mav, and on my first ever night I was greeted with blaring music from my neighbors apartment. The apartment has concrete accents, but the walls are nothing more than thin 1/8" metal beam and drywall. You can hear conversations taking place at a normal talking volume. The layout suggests the master bedrooms be adjacent to most of your neighbors living rooms. It was advertised as luxury living, and the amenities are just that. They are spectacular as well maintained by a few hardworking staff. The fit and finish of the apartments are nice, but were finished under a time crunch. Some flooring was left undone, some cabinets lacked fasteners and fell off after light use, along with some other problems with faucets (that were quickly resolved). The parking situation is great, if you don't mind the premium. The largest issue besides noise, is the guests. There are many guests who use amenities, wander around the halls, and are a large concern on the weekends. The high cost ceiling has not deterred party-throwers from flocking to the building. Lastly, the staffing. The staff are a mixed bag, especially after management changes. Some are very kind and understanding (Avery and Victoria are great) but some lack the interpersonal skills and awareness. Some are incredibly condescending and rude, making a lot to be desired out of a leasing agent or decent human being. It's a good place to live, but for the price and clientele, expect loud neighbors and lack of parking on the weekends.
