Every morning the trash is dragged down the steps through the building to the basement by the cleaning team. Imagine-large trash bags filled with glass being dragged down the steps. The noise between apartments is incredible. People above, you don’t have floor covering so you hear their entire lives on the wooden floors above you. There isn’t any insulation between the apartments and people aren’t required to have their floors covered. And if you live above someone; well then expect to be complained about.

I've lived at Kew Gardens for almost 3 years and I love living here. The building is gorgeous (it is listed in the "Best Addresses" book on Washington, DC) and the location is fabulous. I walk everywhere - there is a Streets Market half a block away, and Safeway and Trader Joe's are also within walking distance. Georgetown is beautiful and it is a joy to walk through the neighborhood with all the historic homes that are meticulously maintained. The staff here is friendly and efficient. The rent is very reasonable.

I moved in to Kew Gardens about 6 months ago and am really enjoying it. The area is very residential and is conveniently located walking distance to the shops and restaurants on M street as well as Trader Joes and Safeway. The maintenance staff responds very quickly to repairs, the halls are kept clean, and amenities include a coffee machine and a gym. I am definitely glad that I moved here.

There is a revolving door of property managers here which results in no continuity of maintenance. Currently, the elevator is broken. This is following about 2 weeks of alarms ringing on the elevator, which were reported to management, and nothing was done. Now on a Sunday the elevator is not working. I have been calling the emergency number which is not staffed for about 30 minutes and no reply. A maintenance person who just arrived and (1) did not know where the elevator room was and (2) did not have a key to it. I don't know how comfortable I feel about riding in an elevator that has been maintained by someone with apparently no knowledge. This is frightening. When I moved in there was onsite management 7 days a week. This is not a good situation.
