I lived here 9 years. The location is fantastic, the price is good, and the staff and maintenance is friendly and responsive.

Gelmarc Towers is a get location. Near the bus or q quick walk to Dupont. Restaurants and grocery near.

Beautiful location. Not a ton of amenities and the building is older. But it gives you everything you need. Maintenance response is very fast. Neighborhood is terrific. Views can be incredible -- best in the city -- depending on your specific unit

Amenities could be improved. The roof could be utilized. Number and quality of bike racks should be increases. Maintainance is VERY responsive. There’s a new mail room that increases mail security and convenience. They’re working very hard on renovations, which leads to some noise, but it’s only during the day and not so bad. Noise from neighbors is moderate, and probably about the best anyone can expect when living in an apartment complex. You mainly just hear the occasional thing dropped on the floor above you, which is more an issue of lack of carpeting. Would be super cool if the building encouraged tenants to get rugs in some way, that would be going above and beyond of course. The hearing/cooling system is quite old, which leads to complications. You have to wait for the whole building to switch from one to the other. So if you run hotter of colder, you’ll have to deal until the change is made. The building also controls the heating/cooling to a large degree, and will shut off either depending on the outside temperature. Utilities are included in the rent, so it’s not unfair though frustrating. But I have a portable AC that I use to help control the temp. It all depends on your priorities. Overall, I’m happy here, especially given the prices.!

The price of the garage parking about 12 years ago when from $125 to $250 just to keep up with the neighborhood. The price is too high. Sometimes I have to wait to park in my space because either guest or security people park in my spot. Do the people who work for Gelman and who live in the basement apartment and there family members get free parking? I understand the staff.
