I have lived here for about 2 years now. I moved here after breaking out on my own - first time living straight up downtown. I never thought I would like it, but I love it. Sure there are some issues in this area, but there is beauty in it as well. As for the building, it is quant and relatively up-to-date. The fact that there is an in-unit washer/dryer is a major bonus, especially for this area and how old the building is. Honestly, I really love this little studio and I have nothing but fond memories of my "first home".

In terms of overall value, this property is right about in the middle. A huge plus is the in-unit laundry, as that’s almost unheard of in my price ranger in Denver, but a lot of other issues with the building convinced me not to renew my lease within a month or two of moving in. If your own washer/dryer and very easy access to public transport are the only things you really care about, I’m sure this building will work out well for you. However, I would be remiss not to mention that my heat has never once worked in the 5.5 months I’ve lived here and I have gotten nowhere with it, despite confirmation from property management that they know about the problem and at least a dozen maintenance requests and emails or phone calls with the assistant portfolio manager in that time. Coupled with half a dozen power outages over the summer (including one long enough to cause an entire refridgerator and freezer’s worth of food to need discarding) and two weeks of no internet access because I was advised to use a service provider that—turns out—literally cant even provide service to this building, it’s just not worth it for me. I’ll happily pay a few extra hubdred a month or add a half hour to my commute if it means I can avoid this unpredictability in the future. I will say I know other people in different Cornerstone properties who haven’t had these issues, so I’m not opposed to the management company as much as I am this building/region of buildings in their care.

I have lived here for about a year. The area itself is a little rough, but I knew what I was getting into living next to Colfax, so it has never bothered me too much. It is a little weird to see all the unhoused people in the alley behind the apartment all day, but it is what it is, and generally I am never bothered. I love the setup of the apartment itself. I have some freinds who live in one-bedroom apartments in old buildings, and their bedrooms get unreasonably hot. But because of the partial wall around the bedroom in the Brougham, I have never had any issues regularing the temperature. Also, I like the shape of the apartment, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable one bedroom in capitol hill.

I have been living in the unit for the past few moths. Its a great location with some noise to be expected for where youre at. neighbors are great and having washer and dryer in unit is awesome.
