Bang for my buck!

Super happy to have found my unit here at the Novelist amidst the ruthless rental scene in Denver these days. Favorite aspects include: mountain views, tons of natural light, and ample closet space for my growing gear collection. Enclosed garage parking and access to the gym/pool are also real perks. All of my staff interactions have been pleasant, and maitenance responds to requests in a timely manner. All-in-all, would recommend.

Asbestos, Blackouts, and Corporate Greed

When I was moving in, the leasing team sent me an incorrect lease that didnt include my two animals. I asked for them to correct my lease. While I should have simply saved the hundreds of dollars in BS pet fees that RedPeak charges by signing the incorrect lease, I chose to be honest so as to start off my lease with 0 issues with management. My reward for honesty? RedPeak waited an entire day to send my new lease, leaving me with approximately one hour to review/sign it before their office closed on my move-in day. Talk about professional! Tucked into the very last few pages of the lease that I received with barely any time to review was an “asbestos amendment”. This amendment didn’t just warn me that asbestos are definitely in the building that RedPeak charges luxury prices to live in, but also stated that by signing the amendment, I was signing away my right to ever sue if indeed I had health issues related to asbestos exposure at any point. Great company already! Now lets talk about what it’s like living here. The electrical wiring in this building is so bad that blackouts are frequent and common. I can’t use my air conditioner and microcwave at the same time without a guaranteed blackout. When I asked maintenance to come by and handle this, they simply stated that the issue will continue as long as I use an air condotioning unit. RedPeak doesn’t provide air conditioning for the luxury prices they charge. When I use my own AC unit, I am subjected to constant blackouts and told I’ll have to live without AC if I want properly working electricity. Outrageous. RedPeak and the people that collect a salary by working in their leasing office should be embarrassed. The heat doesn’t work properly. The radiator is supposed to radiate heat, not just make noise and occasionally get warm to the touch. The maintenance guy didn’t seem to get this, either. He told me the lukewarm/chilly temp in my apartment was due to radiators “radiating instead of heating”. Ok, bro.
