What others love about this property:
820 Dexter
I moved here on short term notice- it was quick and affordable. Building mates are mostly nice, but the occasional domestic disturbance arises. The building has a swamp cooler for "ac" and it is not adequate for the summer months, most residents seem to have additional room ACs they have purchased. I have required 2 in my unit to maintain a good temp. The heat is also building wide and they don't turn on the furnace until there have been a few cold days under 60 deg. Meaning last fall- There were 2-3 weekends where it was 55 degrees in my apt and the swamp cooler was still blowing.... You get what you pay for.
820 Dexter Review
I love living at 820 Dexter. I have lived here for two year and just entered my third lease. Maintenance is always great when I have an issue and is prompt and courteous. The area is great and super walkable. The property and building are maintained and cleaned properly. My only one drawback is very loud and noisy neighbors. This has been an ongoing issue for a year with multiple police visit and violence and management seems to do very little to stop it or has yet to remove the resident. I'm not sure why the resident hasn't been DFC'ed or evicted for multiple lease violations as of yet. I almost didn't renew my lease because of them and know several neighbors not renewing specifically due to the noise & fighting. Other than the lack of managment doing anything to stop this behavior, I love living here.
Great First Studio
I was very pleased with the leasing process as I moved from out of state and only saw a virtual tour of my unit before hand. Upon move-in, the unit was clean, just as pictured, and worth the price of rent.
Communication Issues
Residents have a hard time contacting office. Amenities are not easy to access, i.g. codes that office provides are incorrect, they don't have correct information upon signing your lease. For example, I was told two different numbers for my mailbox code upon a required "move-in orientation" and the different move-in coordinators had not communicated multiple things that could have resulted in me paying for amenities that I wouldn't have gotten if I hadn't notified them. Residents not notified off emergency water shut offs and other important information and when asked to be added to the appropriate email list, given attitude by staff. This process has been pretty disappointing thus far.
