    Expect outragous rent increases of up to 25% every 3-4 months. Also expect elevators/AC to be out and for them to have little 'steps' to get into buildings making carts unreasonable.     We rented a climate controlled 10 x 20 in ranson WV over the phone. We told the employee helping us we would be there until after office hours. We payed and received gate codes but never got codes for the doors leading to the climate controlled units. There is also no instructions to get codes. We tried calling but there is no customer service outside of business hours (M-F) 9-5pm. So we waisted 2 hrs on the road and had to find another storage company to store our belongings. 10/10 would recommend finding a different company to rent from if this is standard operating procedure. Requesting a refund after the weekend will update with that process after it is settled completed. Update: we were able to get a refund and informed this is a known error in their automation.     This place rips people off.We had been there for 4 yrs and they get you by advertising specials and then after renting a few months they continue to raise the prices. It started at $89 a month then $95,$120 and so on they just sent us an email and raised the small unit to $170!!! We cant afford that. So we are going to get our belongings and never use SELF STORAGE again. We found another storage unit that offers 10x10 for $85 and DOES NOT continue to raise the prices.... shame on you SELF STORAGE ... Read more

    Good experience signing up and very easy. Everyone I’ve spoken to is friendly. Unit was clean - had some dings in walls, but that’s expected. Only issue I had is when they send you the text that gives you your access code to gate, It’s not correct. You don’t input the zero and it’s missing two special characters you need at the pad. It would be helpful if there was a sign on the pad that told you what all you had to hit. So I got there early on my first day of moving in and couldn’t get in. I had to wait until someone was in the office. It wasted a couple hours of my time. Not a big deal, but should be corrected and send the code exactly as it needs to be entered. I even looked on their website to see if it said how it had to be entered and could find nothing. Anyway, it is a nice storage place overall. ... Read more

    I am completely disgusted at Self Storage Plus's new company management... If you, for any reason at all fall behind n your bill to the point of potential auction status, you now have to PHYSICALLY go in to the facility and pay by check or money order. This is so completely wrong because if you are in a position where you are sick, injured, or out of the area and can't make it to the facility to pay your bill in person...YOU WILL LOSE EVERYTHIN!!!! because hopping online to pay is no longer an option... It sounds to me like a ploy to make extra money by ending up with a person's valuables since once your bill is late they can cut your lock and put on their own...what's to stop someone from looking at what you have inside. On a positive note, the young lady that works in the Charles Town facility is the BIGGEST SWEETHEART. It should be illegal to always be that happy and friendly. And in calling customer service to complain about this disgusting practice a young lady named Veronica was also very sweet and very apologetic about the new policies. The only thing I can say is...if you intend to use Self Storage Plus ANYWHERE..please be aware of this new policy.     Great customer services. The employees has always been courteous and helpful. The buildings are usually clean or being cleaned. The only reason for 3 star is that I have been using their services for more than 3 years now but the upper management keeps raising the rent prices. A year ago I was force to move into a smaller unit due the increase in prices. And since then they raised it twice without a really good reason. I also use to do split payments which was easier for my wallet and was late very little because of it. Unless you pay in person or online if you pay over the phone you pay an extra fee. Also the call service is confusing and not really good. Like I said I really like the people who works there, they are awesome but it’s everything else. ... Read more
