We stored most of our stuff here this last year while waiting to purchase a home. When we did get the home and started moving stuff out and unpacking we noticed a LOT of mouse poop and urine. Several of our boxes got chewed through and had droppings in it. Bags were chewed through and mouse droppings and urine in it. Our mattresses were ruined as well as our bed frame. While moving out we looked for rat boxes and didn’t see any. ... Read more

The team was wonderful and very professional. Dan is a great team leader. Tony and Jeff on Friday in our hottest day this summer so far worked really hard. We finish up on Sat due to a crazy delay and got Austin as part of the team instead of Jeff. Great teamwork guys. Thanks so much. Too bad I did not hire them to unpack.... ... Read more

We have had a storage locker here for years and decided to have them pack and move our four bedroom house. We had Dan come out and quote the house, which ended up being less than the actual price to pack and move. The next day a team of two people came out and packed the majority of our stuff. The ladies that packed the house told us the movers would start at 7:30 and be done by noon. The movers came at 7:30 a week before Christmas and began to load the truck. At 8 PM and after 2 trips to the new house (14 miles away) they told us they were finished. Being the week before Christmas I tipped all three movers $50 for working well into the night. The next day I went back to the old house only to find out they only moved 3/4 of the house and left the rest for me to move. I had to take a day off of work, get a truck, and load all the remaining items left by this moving company. After we called to ask why they only moved 3/4 of the house they blamed it on the younger workers. They said they would make it up to us by moving the remainder of our items at 8 PM that night. After 10 hours and multiple trips by myself to the new house Dan showed up asking if he could help. It is a shame the way they treated our move. This company was not professional and would not recommend them. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at River Road Moving-Storage - 820 North River Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate and Parking. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
