I made a payment that included late fees and 2 months rent I was charged $274, they charged me another $107 and said that my bank only approved part of it but on my bank account and the app it shows the full $274. The girl at the desk was very rude, disrespectful and stated “I’m gonna make sure you get evicted” take your money somewhere else. ... Read more

We were looking for a storage space to keep the contents of a 1 bedroom apartment between leases (7 days total). The sales associate said they could give me one at half price, but never explained that it was indoors (vs. a drive up). We realized that when we got there and asked if there was anything else available because we had furniture and numerous boxes. We received a new number with no explanation that it was double the price. She said there "might be a small amount due when you move out" That "small amount" was double the price. The door on the unit was bent and kept coming off the track. The floor was dirty and not swept. The items were safe, but I would not rent from them again for the price we paid. The follow up with customer service was a hassle. A phone call with someone who could not speak English very well and a chat session that would disconnect while waiting for the associate to answer was very frustrating. ... Read more

If I could rate 0 stars I would. I was a customer for over 8 yrs, my rent was raised every year (tripled from starting rate). Over a year ago, a 2nd lock appeared on my unit and when I asked to get it removed I was told the Person who cuts locks only comes in once a month. TWO months after reporting the problem, they finally cut the lock, only they cut off the lock for which I had a key, leaving the one to which I didn't! I complained and literally heard nothing back from them for 8 months, so I decided to stop paying, within a month I was informed my property was being sold to pay the back payment. When I tried to explain why I hadn't paid they hung up on me! If you read the reviews here, you will notice all the 5 star reviews are from YEARS ago! Really gone downhill! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 535 South 84th Street include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 535 South 84th Street start from $32 and can go up to $375 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
