It's hard for storage units to earn 5 stars. They usually have issues with customer service, or security, or facilities. Not this place! The units are new, climate control is awesome, and the customer service is top notch. I recommend them to anyone needing a unit. ... Read more

A new, secure, beautiful storage facility. But customer service is terrible. We were promised the second month free. But we were billed for it. When we talked to the manager, she was disrespectful, even snotty. She would not take responsibility for the promise her employee made. We've moved our stuff out of the storage unit. *UPDATE*: The owners of the facility refunded our money and replaced the manager. Hence the much higher rating. Thank you, Milwaukee Self Storage. ... My previous review is below, but after posting this review, one of the owners, Suzanne, reached out to me and apologized for the manager's way of handling this situation. Suzanne also saw to it that my sister's money for the "free" month was returned on her original card. Thank you, Suzanne. My sister and I feel vindicated, but I still do not feel 5 stars is quite deserved considering the hassle and stress my sister and I had to endure. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ My sister was making a move to Milwaukee and needed a storage unit for 2-6 weeks, depending on when her new place was ready. We went to Milwaukee Self Storage Morgan because it was close to the new apartment and brand new. The nice young man set us up with a unit, informing us that the first month was free, but since the first “month” we were renting was only a partial month, that November 2020 would be the first full month and the free month. This was repeated verbally to my sister and me several times during our paperwork signing and payment. This is a very good deal. We move stuff in and soon get the invoice for November’s rent. It is for $88—hardly free! So I call to inform them of the mistake and to get it rectified. Imagine my surprise when I get the manager, who tells me, “You didn’t get it!” meaning my sister didn’t get the “first month free.” I am mystified, as we were told unequivocally that she WOULD get the first month free. As the conversation progressed, I told her I’d have to speak to someone else and she rudely informed me that she was the manager. There is no one else. She finally said she’d give my sister “November for $48, OR she could just pay the whole $88. What is it going to be?” After several more back and forth with my trying to explain what she was doing was illegal. A customer can’t be told they get something and then later told, “Just kidding!” But it was to no avail. A few days later, my sister and I went in, paid the $48 started moving things out to the new apartment, which was ready early. Two days later, on November 1, an email shows up stating her bill is overdue and needs to be paid to “avoid further delinquency.” Really? While I am angry inside, I calmly call the facility, discuss only the email relating to the delinquency, and am told to ignore the invoice. I was not going to have my sister’s meager possessions in jeopardy because of a manager who seems to have a power problem. I moved everything out to the new apartment on November 2, 2020 and waited for the confirmation that all debts were paid and my sister was checked out completely to give this review. ... Read more

The facility is very clean! I came in with a few questions about potentially renting out a storage unit and the current manager (Devonte) was beyond helpful. He was very polite and honestly answered all my questions before I could even ask them! ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Milwaukee Self Storage - 6801 West Morgan Avenue start from $63 and can go up to $280 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
