Read some helpful reviews of KO Storage at 9929 West Silver Spring Drive, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I would not recommend this storage facility based on my recent experience. I transferred from Unit **** to Unit **** and was in the process of moving the last of my belongings. A red lock was placed on my unit, preventing me from accessing my property. I submitted photos and contacted the facility multiple times, but the issue remained unresolved for days. What was most frustrating was that I received communication regarding my new unit while my repeated requests to remove the lock from the old unit went unanswered. This delayed my move and caused unnecessary stress. In addition, my initial interaction with the facility manager was unprofessional, and after filing a complaint, I did not feel my concerns were handled appropriately. I simply wanted access to my belongings and timely communication. I hope management reviews how customer concerns are handled and improves communication and professionalism moving forward. ... While going thru one of my most turbulent struggles, and im talking eviction, losing child care, customer changing locks, they'd hacked into every account every device. When I couldn't trust anyone, I trusted KO Storage and despite struggling to get back to my feet, knowing my things are secure, my things are safe I can not describe the peace that brings. Id sacrificed to obtain the tools the furniture, appliances and toys for my son. I wont give up without a fight, idk if KO stands for knock out but they're definitely in your corner when it comes to Storage. ... Read more

Good location, clean building and best of all, they honor what they say. A month after started rental the rent was raised, but after reminding the agent of the verbal commitment to no increase within the first year, a satisfactory adjustment was made. ... Read more

I canceled my storage unit approximately three months ago and have not used the facility during that time. Despite this, I have continued to be billed monthly. I have made multiple attempts to contact your team by phone, but each time I was placed on hold and never received a follow-up. The lack of professionalism and courtesy from your staff has been deeply disappointing. I am requesting the following: - A full refund for the months I was charged after cancellation. - Written confirmation that my account has been closed and no further charges will be made. Please respond to this letter within 7 business days. If I do not receive a satisfactory resolution, I will be forced to escalate this matter by filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau and disputing the charges with my bank. I hope KO Storage will take this opportunity to correct the situation and demonstrate a commitment to customer service. ... Read more

They refuse to answer the phone. Plus the gate was broken for at least 3 days straight. AND I am trying to move out, but they expect me to pay the full month of rent. I will have my stuff out by the 5th. Why pay a full month for something they could be renting to someone else for more? ... Read more

Lynne from KO was so patient and genuine interest in a resolution to my misunderstanding on my situation. She was prompt and very explanatory. The facility (Silver Springs Rd/Milwaukee WI) is very clean and secure. I signed up online but calling and speaking with Lynne reassured my family and myself that our belongings (life work) are safe and secured by at will organized, customer focused storage company. THANK YOU Lynne! and KO Storage! ... Read more

The sign up and check in process worked well. My gate code worked within a few minutes. The unit was ready and mostly clean. There was a little dirt that had blown in under the door but no big deal. Plenty of room to maneuver my truck around to get in and out. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at KO Storage - 9929 West Silver Spring Drive include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
