I had my belongings in a 5x5 storage unit for a year and five months. I completely removed my belongings on October 1st 2018. The person I shared a wall with had roaches in her belongings. A full fridge and stove full of food. I purchased rental insurance from a place they used and that was a huge mistake. I tried to file a claim and after being contacted and told to list my losses; I was told roaches are seen as insects and insects aren’t covered. They’re insects that are highly unliked and seen as dirty as they can infest and spread very fast. Who the hell wants roaches?! I had to throw out a mattress, a microwave, a tent and several other belongings because I was not sure if they were infested. I lost 600 dollars. The insurance person didn't have an ounce of simpathy and stated that I should ask the storage place to refund me. When I purchased insurance from his company! So, buy your own insurance or simply, if you can afford a better storage place that doesn’t share a wall with other ppl, do that! My sister and I were moving my stuff out on the same day (October 1st) the lady with the roaches was moving out, as well. This is how I know there was a fridge and stove in her unit. It was disgusting, roach casings all over her storage area. I don’t know how far that roaches went down, as they can travel and the row of the storage lockers were sharing walls with each other. The manager was nice. I signed the release form thinking that my belongings would be reimbursed through the insurance and that did not happen. I didn't want to tell this story; but, the insurance experience is something nobody should have to experience. So, please, always get your own insurance. ... Read more

My biggest gripe with this storage facility is the operating hours, which aren't conducive for those with regular day shift work. The prices are fair especially considering this is in the city. Otherwise this is a clean facility with helpful staff with dollys and other equipment for moving your items. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 10 to 130 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by East Bank Storage - 2025 North Martin Luther King Drive start from $25 and can go up to $170 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
