Read some helpful reviews of DS Storage at 5751 West Prospect Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I’ve rented one of the large units from Dave since the buildings were completed on Prospect Ave in 2020. The rent is fair, the place is clean and well managed. Any questions I’ve had, needs or concerns, Dave is on top of it and either contacts me right away or takes care of it. Highly recommend DS Storage. Dave is also very personable and treats his renters like extended family. The last place I rented changed ownership three or four times in 7 years that I was there, and because of it there was significant communication issues, and constant rent increases and that is why I left but I am so glad I landed here. Places like these are everywhere today, the rent is usually competitive so you will either be looking for location or customer care, I find the relational aspect of it to be the most important. ... I have rented storage units from DS Storage for several years now and I have to say I cannot imagine a better renting experience. The quality of the units is top notch. You can tell it’s not their first time building and renting units like this. Very thoughtful layouts and reasonable prices. What impresses me the most though is the quality of communication. If I need anything dave is always quick to respond to calls or texts. If I need something fixed it is done the same day or the next. I run a tree service and this has been a perfect place for me to park my stuff out of the elements and keep my livelihood safe and sound. Thank you Dave for such an amazing experience! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at DS Storage - 5751 West Prospect Avenue include the following amenities: 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
