The only reason I can't give them (Mini-Storage - Abrams Rd) a rating lower than 0 is that at 0 you run out of numbers. I go in on a Thursday and get the pleasure of dealing directly with Mike, the manager. I ask him about a great rate in print and on a sign standing in front of the building. Yes, there is one medium size unit available and he drives me over in the cart to show it to me. He opens the door. Perfect, I'll take it. But I can't have it until the contracts arrive in the mail. What are those? too vague to explain, but they'll probably be in on or before Friday. And by the way, Mike, the manager, starts taking leave the next day, but not before I'm assured by Mike that "it's mine" after "the contracts arrive." I don't hear anything the next couple days. Over the weekend I drive over to the facility to be greeted by a rude woman on a personal call who claims she knows nothing about me and has no record of a "hold" I'd established on the unit I accepted. Mike, the manager, returns in a couple of days after the weekend. By then, I'd found out that my unit had been rented out from under me. I drive over again to him to ask what happened to the "hold" we agreed on? Does he remember my face and the commitment he'd made to me? Apparently, the mysterious circumstances that prevented him from signing the contract initially had been lifted and no one bothered to call me and inform me that that the legal obstacles had been cleared up and I was free to come back again and seal the contract. Mike, the manager, calls me back to inform me that they really can't "hold units like I asked them to pending resolution of the legal problems which they initially cited that prevented them from signing the contract the day I accepted the unit. But now they had a slightly larger unit for a lot more they'd let me occupy, and oh, by the way, there were no move'in incentives So what happened here? Only Mike, the manager, knows. I do too. I got screwed by someone that offered them a better deal, layered somewhere behind a wall of lies and shoddy business practices. Stay away from these people and look for a better character of people to do business with. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 140 to 299 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by JAmber Storage - 2995 Cedar Lane start from $65 and can go up to $85 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
