Read some helpful reviews of Northwest Self Storage at 10611 18th Avenue East, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I had a big rental truck that was full and needed a large storage to accommodate. Besides the size of the unit, I was also needing a good location, good security, good management and good ratings. I got everything that I wanted here at Northwest Self Storage. It was less than a mile from my home and literally 100 yards from the main highway entrances and exits. They had a storage big enough for my things and provided double door locks for my peace of mind. This was it all handled kindly, informatively, effectively and patiently by Stuart, the personnel on duty. Stuart made it easy for me to choose Northwest Self Storage by addressing all my concerns. He even highlighted things that as a tenant I would want to know. After all that was said and done and before my occupance, Stuart went out to my unit and swept it clean. No wonder this storage has close to a 5 Star Rating ? ??? ?. ... Read more

Prices are decent but that's about it. I have an indoor 5 x 10. Have had my rent on the unit raised without notice. I'm on autopay so I didn't realize right away. Also there is a tenant living in a unit in the same bank of indoor ones. Been there a number of months that I've noticed but could have been longer since I didn't notice until I could smell food cooking and bottles of urine in empty units adjacent. Today I went to my unit to grab a few things while the guy in question screamed obscenities at someone on the phone. The only way that can happen in a "secure" facility is if the owner or manager is allowing it to happen. Rent at your own risk. ... Read more

I've used the Northwest Storage on 18th Ave E in Tacoma, WA for about 3 years. I have been impressed by the Northwest Storage rep Matthew throughout that time and he has been a good resource to help. I am pleased overall with the facility. A couple observations:: The facility has some maintenance items that detract from the facility with things like muddy ground areas because there is not enough gravel to spread around, some fence areas need additional repair and securing, and a number of damaged storage unit doors need repaired. ... NSA Storage has been an excellent answer to my needs for a storage Unit. They’ve been extremely professional and courteous in terms of Customer Service. I would like to give a sincere Thank You to Matthew who has done his very best to provide the best services and customer satisfaction. I am definitely staying with this storage Company just for the professional and courteous customer service assistance that they provide. It’s definitely a storage facility that I would recommend to friends and families short term or long term. The pricing is phenomenal and fair considering today’s inflation rates. Thanks Matthew for all that you provide to ensure our storage needs are met. Much respects, Vincent S. ... Read more

Lots of my stuff got damaged by the leaking roof. No discount offered or any apologies after reporting water leaking and damages to boxes. Fence plowed down by drunk driver at new years and still not fixed leaving storage units unprotected against non customers. Very unsecured. Dark gloomy corner unit poor lighting. Will not recommend to anyone. Super nice manager that has hands tied to do anything because his boss...main management/owners don't care about you. They just want your money for very poor storage units. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Northwest Self Storage - 10611 18th Avenue East include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Enclosed, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
