They destroyed my stuff!!! My son got me a storage locker here (online) because I found out the night before the move that half of my storage space in my new home was missing and half of my stuff was going to have to be stored somewhere! I recently went through chemo and ended up giving myself a hernia on the last move which was the same time we got this storage locker. My son thought he had the payment set up on auto payment but something happened one month and a payment didn't go through, it ended up correcting itself and was fine and latter months. However when I went to get in my storage locker I couldn't remember my code for the gate so I had to go inside. He had to reach out to my son to get permission to give me the gate code. Once I got in, there was a DIFFERENT LOCK on my storage unit. I went back to the office and inquired about the new lock. It took quite a while but we finally figured out that the month my son was late on a payment, they entered my unit after cutting my really expensive lock off, I guess to see what I had. Not even being slightly careful!! They TORE THROUGH IT, dumping everything out, unwrapping everything, destroying things, plastic totes dumped out with heavy furniture piled on top of them, warped and unusable, my grandma's mirror broken, water stored for emergency broken so that items made of material were mildewy and ruined... On and on!! THE METAL TIN MY DECEASED DOGS ASHES WERE STORED IN HAD BEEN OPENED AND THE ASHES HAD BEEN POURED OUT. They poured my dog's ashes out!!! Why??? I told my son in tears and he instantly called this company. The person he spoke to talked about how my items were insured and told my son to talk to corporate on Monday. When my son called corporate, they said they're NOT responsible and if anything is missing or damaged I need to file a police report and THEY take ZERO responsibility for my belongings! ZERO!! I will be getting my things out of that storage locker as soon as humanly possible and I will be telling everyone I know NOT to do business with them. (You know word of mouth is the best advertising). How mean. It absolutely broke my heart to see what they did to my things. The few things I have left in this world. I still just feel sick. I feel violated. And I cannot believe this company won't at least spring for some new totes and my lock, Grams mirror and a few other damaged items. Who knows what they stole. So very few people have integrity anymore these days. These people certainly don't. ... Read more

I have a storage unit for 9 years at About Space on South Hill in Spokane. My unit was 10 x 25 and I never had any mice or any bugs of any kind. This was a great place to keep all my holiday stuff and also my mother and daughters things that had passed and I couldn’t get rid of. Everything was in great condition when I got it out. They keep everything clean around the units and in the winter the snow is cleared so I can get to my unit at all times. All of the employees were very helpful and courteous. I would recommend this place to everyone. That is why I am giving them five stars. The photo is after I took everything out. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at About Space - 3715 East 55th Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by About Space - 3715 East 55th Avenue start from $58 and can go up to $260 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
