We've used this location over 10 years and here's my experience: This storage location used to be called "Valley East Self Storage". A few years ago the buisness was bought out and is now called "Northwest Self Storage". The older reviews you see are from when these units were under a different owner. The newer reviews are from the new ownership. What's changed? A lot has changed. - horrible security breaches, don't store anything valuable or it will get stolen - nobody takes care of this place any longer - trash all over the place - increased rates but the storage quality significantly has decreased What a sad commentary. This used to be the best units around in this area but is now a run down dump. ... Read more

Zero stars if I could. Deceptive and shoddy, Not open on Mondays, purposely designed to be difficult to contact. Property manager or anyone that can actually do anything can’t be reached. Was a model tenant for two years and left a spotless unit when I left, was billed for rent and late fees after move out which I took care of the account when I moved out. Not to mention my unit was broken into during that time and they did nothing about that either. ... Read more

I have had my storage unit for 1 year. They have raised rates on me twice. I’m now paying more than twice the “introductory rate” they list. Additionally I had to make phone calls for two months about their cameras being covered on some of their rows before they would fix it. ... Read more

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 150 to 360 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Northwest Self Storage - 17915 East Sprague Avenue start from $79 and can go up to $227 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
