As someone who's worked with over 10 different storage facilities, this is definitely one of the best storage places around! I absolutely love how the parking is facility parking is gated; I feel a lot safer unloading and loading my belongings into my car. The ladies that work here are awesome! Megan has, bar none, the best customer service! What a rockstar! She's patient with all the customers and you can tell she really cares about her customers and the community. Megan made my business here very pleasant and was very accommodating. They also have Uhauls you can rent directly from their lot! Extremely convenient and a life saver for me! ?????????? ... I have edited this review after the staff brought it to my attention that this storage facility was staffed by service personnel and not a fully complete automated storage facility. I offer my sincere apology for giving a negative review from another negative review I had seen. I pride myself on honest posts. It's not fair when mistakes are made at the expanse of a business struggling to stay afloat in Seattle. You have my respect and I hope this helps. Staff and Management at this storage business is caring and responsible the kind of place you'd respect to bring your belongings for safe storage. Please forgive my short comings and review that left you with a heavy heart. Sincerely D Cool. ... Read more

I would highly recommend renting at this storage facility due to the fact that Liza (property manager) was very accommodating, friendly, and knowledgable. She was able to help us through the process even though it appeared to start off a bit rough (not her fault). I went there to rent a storage space and had one picked out. The only problem was that it was the last one in the size I wanted, and the automatic light sensor was not working. Liza assured me that it would be addressed immediately. She was communicative throughout the whole process. When it appeared that it was not going to be fixed immediately, she provided me with updates and options that worked out for both parties. I was very happy with her willingness to ensure that I left happy and continued to support even after the move in. The other pluses going for this place that make it top notch is the other staff member on hand (Shawny) were helpful and pleasant in assisting us. The property is clean and secure and well lit in the parking, storage spaces and floors. I love that the parking/loading area is covered and storage is accessible quickly via tow sets of elevators. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a long term /short term storage place. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at West Coast Self-Storage - 3736 Rainier Avenue South include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 230 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by West Coast Self-Storage - 3736 Rainier Avenue South start from $49 and can go up to $596 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
