I encountered some significant issues at this facility. Out of the two elevators available, one has been broken for over two months, and the other was out of service today when I needed to move a large dresser. Additionally, there’s no direct line to contact the manager, and the public storage unit phone line was unhelpful in connecting me to someone. While the location itself is convenient, the strict operating hours, ongoing elevator problems, and recent fee increases have made me wish I had chosen a more reliable storage company. ... Read more

The location is great, and the staff is amazing. Every person I interacted with was extremely helpful. But there was one dealbreaker. After I rented my unit, I read some reviews about evidence of rodents. Most of my belongings were in cardboard boxes, and the insurance for vermin infestation is very limited. So before I had my belongings moved into the unit, I bought two glue traps and put them on the floor of the unit. Just the glue traps - nothing else. I went back a day and a half later to check them, fully expecting that they would be just as I had left them. They were not. In the span of less than two days, three mice had gotten caught in the traps - inside my empty storage unit. I canceled the unit and moved my belongings to another facility. ... Read more

Jeanette was the best !!!! She helped me move in smoothly, quickly and showed me the best way to get around the storage facility and where to find the carts. There were a lot of other people coming in during my time with her in the office and she always remained so bubbly and upbeat and kind with all of us. I love Public Storage !!!! I swear they have the nicest employees at any storage facility I have been to !!! ... Read more

Jeanette was an absolutely dream after we'd had a bad experience at another location. She was polite, friendly, gave us a through tour and made us feel reassured about the security of the space. She even sent us to another location when we found a better deal that matched our needs. Thank you so much Jeanette!! ... Read more

Let me just tell you that, while this location has had ups and downs over the years, the new management is EXCELLENT. Jeanette is an absolute joy to work with. I initially had some challenges with getting my account started online and customer service had schedule me an appt for the next day instead. Ok, fine, no big deal. About 15 minutes later, I get a call from Jeanette and she offered that I could come by today and get everything set up. She's incredibly pleasant on the phone and even more so in person - something that you are hard pressed to find in customer service. Upon arrival, Jeanette walked me through my options to meet my needs. She walked me through both units allowing me to make an informed decision. She discussed all the building information I would need and then walked me through the process of getting everything set up for my new unit. Jeanette is a STAR and Public Storage is lucky to have her on their team. I'm extremely happy to know that such a wonderful person is in charge of that location and look forward to running into her when I am on-site. Thanks, Jeanette!!!! ... Read more

This review is for Jeanette, the facility manager. She reached out to help resolve a payment issue and went above and beyond by proactively clarifying other concerns I had. She handled everything with professionalism and represents the company exceptionally well. Public Storage is lucky to have her—especially given that some of the company’s broader business practices feel questionable, if not unethical. ... Read more

Jeanette is the kindest and most professional storage facility manager I've ever met! We originally tried to rent a 10x20 foot unit for our business, but she showed us the 15x15 and the 10x15 and we ended up going with the 10x15, which saved us about $50/month. Jeanette has a great sense of what size unit you'll really need when renting, and she made the signup process as smooth as can be. She also seems to make friends with all of the tenants in the building and goes out of her way to make them feel comfortable. Will definitely be using this facility again if I ever need a personal unit! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1815 12th Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1815 12th Avenue start from $84 and can go up to $385 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
