Was here for one year. Okay experience not great. They have some room for improvement. Just to clarify a little bit to be fair. One of the biggest things I didn't like was the fact that the door to my rental was on a hill which made me struggle. And second was the app a lot of times I had to get out of the vehicle to punch in the code instead of using the unlock access on the app. There was hardly ever a time when someone was physically in the office. You had to call and leave a message sometimes they didn't get back to you for a day or two. Also I wanted to upgrade to a larger drive-up access unit, and was told that I would have to pay another admin fee and pay for the locks, and they would refund my lock money back later if I didn't need them which doesn't make sense. Thank you for the year of service and good luck! ... Read more

They will raise your rates randomly and by any amount. According to their rules, “ Public Storage runs on a month-to-month basis, so prices may be subject to change any time per section 2.2 of the lease agreement that you signed. It is subject to periodic rate increases with no exact time frame or amount cap listed.” Raised my rate from $118 to $160 then $185 then $211 in a little over a year. Shady business. I expect to file a complaint with BBB. Edit: Updating my 1 star review to 3 stars after public storage agreed to reduce rent for 3 months. However, they won’t allow a long term contract even if you want to pre-pay so we will see where we are in 3 months. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 14034 1st Avenue South include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 14034 1st Avenue South start from $44 and can go up to $522 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
