Read some helpful reviews of Public Storage at 5200 180th Street SW, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Very bad experience with this garage storage company. They unilaterally terminated my contract and started demanding money for the time when I wasn’t even using the garage. When I went to their office, they told me it was a mistake and that they would fix it. But later, they still sent my case to a collection agency. Extremely unprofessional and irresponsible behavior. ... Read more

Do not recommend at all!! The worst place ever! If you want to save your nerves and money – do not deal with this place. They steal your money, waste your time, lie straight to your face, and treat you with total disrespect. The manager unilaterally broke our contract and blocked my husband’s access to his own belongings. They charged us for a month we never used – we weren’t even there! First, they said we didn’t need to pay, and later they sent the case to collections. These are shameless, lying people who look down on you just because you are not like them. The app for opening the doors almost never works. In the office – only rudeness. The manager Katie never even called back after I left a message to resolve the problem. This is the lowest of the low. Stay away! ... Read more

Beyond unhappy with the services I'm receiving at this location. Not to mention, I've been renting for less than 3 months and just had my rate increased by $50 from $159 to $209 a month. They never followed through on their first month of rent for a dollar, and they blame me because I decided I needed a bigger unit the day I went to move into the unit. Also, their auto pay system failed, and so I was charged a $39 late fee my first month. Worst of all, I have been unable to access the gate with the app numerous times, leaving me without access unless I had the gate code written down. I would rate zero stars if I could. I'm moving out ASAP. ... Read more

Avoid this place at all cost. You'd be better off throwing your stuff directly into the garbage. I did a clean out at this place and there was $10k plus in water damages to the contents and we couldn't figure out how water was getting in, until it started raining. It was then we noticed that the gutters were not directing the water, instead it was pouring over the side of the building splashing on the ground right back towards the unit and under the door. These two units had sat since 1996, getting wet every time it rained, making a perfect habitat for rats. And the kicker, PS was only liable to pay $200 for damages. 29 years of storage at a wopping $417,600 and the majority of the contents were destroyed. These guys brought in that kind of money, but couldn't even spring for a gutter cleaning service. I'm not one to write bad reviews, but people need to know, this place is awful. ... Read more

Charlotte at this location saved me!! I couldn’t complete the registration on line and got extremely frustrated but Charlotte called me to see if I needed assistance setting up. She was SO extremely patient with me and has such wonderful customer service skills that she helped me step-by-step to finish setting up my account. She then patiently helped me download the APP and made sure I screenshot the gatecode, space # and all the info Ineeded, so moving stuff in will be MUCH easier. Charlotte is a GEM of an employee and because of her, I shall remain a customer of Public Storage and recommend to ALL my friends to do business with them. 5-stars!!! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 5200 180th Street SW include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 5200 180th Street SW start from $58 and can go up to $436 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
