High theft Location! Don't believe me? Ask the Kent City Police. My story, short but painful. Month #2. I arrive to add items to my storage unit. My lock is missing and there is now a different lock on. I go to the office, confirm it's me and I am told only the manager can cut the lock. They are on vacation for a week. I had to buy another lock just to keep the thieves from re-entering. I asked them to escalate the issue. Nothing. I called the 800 # which directs you back to the manager on vacation. I eventually got the contact info for the District Manager. He cLls, he has a family emergency and will not be able to help me for 5 days. His back- up is unavailable. Eventually, I get in, confirm 1/2 my stuff has been stolen. This is a secured location with cameras and acces codes! Oh? We can't figure out how to use the cameras. We have a ticket in. Time is of the essence. Absolutely no urgency on the Public Storage team to assist. I file a police report, the Policeman says, yeah they get hit alot, the cameras are junk, they never do anything about the crime. Even the employees at PS state they get hit often! I ended up filing a claim with my home insurance, lost collectibles that I've been collecting since 1989. I got a fraction of what was lost and now all my memories are gone. Avoid this location at all costs. You will regret it. ... Read more

My unit here has been broken into twice. They charge long term renters more than new tenants. Getting them on the phone can be impossible. The cop i made the police report to last time says the break ins here are recurring and constant. Stay far away. ... Read more

Absolutely awful! Our storage has been broken into 3 times! In 4 months 2 of the times we’re in the same MONTH. When asked if we needed to make a police report were told by stuff”I mean if you want to”. THIS is unacceptable to pay almost 300 dollars a month to get your stuff taken and then employees to not even give you any details regarding the break in. Public storage needs to do a total revamp and hire security god knows you need it. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 7421 South 180th Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 350 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 7421 South 180th Street start from $38 and can go up to $276 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
