Acquiring our storage space was effortless. I went in to the Maritime Storage facility to get a storage unit and the whole process was incredibly smooth. It lasted about 30 minutes, including a tour of the facility. The customer service by Elizabeth was fantastic and the unit is very reasonable. ... Read more

Rented 4 units for $130 a month each. Prior to moving in, CubeSmart (who manages their rentals) confirmed and INSISTED they would not raise the rent. I rented 4 units and paid movers to move everything to Maritime Storage. Then, Maritime Storage raised the rent on me. I immediately complained and reported the name of the individual who assured me Maritime Storage would never increase the rent. The office manager (on-site) at Maritime didn't care, was unapologetic, and not interested in discussing the matter. I asked "At what point do you stop raising the rent on me?". I was told "When it reaches market value." When I asked what the market value was for a 10' x 20' unit (such as I had), I was told $785/month. I pushed to have the call with someone else since the manager clearly didn't care about how his customer (me) was being treated by CubeSmart or them. I was told a District Manager would call me - one never did. I followed up and left several messages stating I hadn't heard from a district manager, but no one ever replied to ANY of my messages. When I moved out, they have already increased the per unit rental fee to $385/month. Beware......I have no reason to expect you wouldn't be treated similarly. I have two friends in Tacoma who told me their storage rates never increase and this place is in the same market!!! ... Read more

The facility is very well kept and I was given a tour and shown where my reserved unit is. I feel all areas are secure with convenient loading and unloading zones. I compared prices and locations before selecting Maritime Storage. Elizabeth was polite and very helpfull. I am consolidating storage from another location. I am very happy to have selected this company I would recommend them without hesitation. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at CubeSmart Self Storage - 5116 89th Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Keyless Unit Access, Elevators, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by CubeSmart Self Storage - 5116 89th Street start from $49 and can go up to $401 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
