I have been a storage unit user for more than 15 years all over washington from Marysville to spokane to Woodinville. This has been by far the worst experience I have had dealing with a facility. The first day I moved my stuff in I was INSIDE the building when 8 pm came. With no warning I got locked out, unable to get to my rental vehicle, tried to find staff, called the main extra space storage line to get to my rented vehicle and while I was talking to them for help there was an announcement that if I did not leave they would call the police! The manager is condescending as heck when I tried to move out. And will not even recycle the locks they force you to buy, I've literally never in my life seen the types of locks they use except through them. If I am not returning and you can't resell it (even though I couldn't get back into the facility with no pass code but okay) you could at least dispose of it. Waste of money. Waste of time. Not worth the emotional whiplash. Gave a star because the building was clean. Thats all it had going for it. ... Read more

???????????DO NOT GO HERE. THEY WILL LIE TO YOU ABOUT THE PRICE. They are basically scammers. Last year in May of 2024 I called around to find the best price in Federal Way for a storage unit. On the phone they told me it would be $87 a month for a 10x15 unit. I asked them if this was a promotional price - considering it was almost summer. They said no, it's not a promotional price. I asked them if my price would be guaranteed to stay the same. They said yes. I decided to move all my stuff in. 2-3 months later I get a notice that my storage unit bill would be going up to $182.50 a month. That is more than double what I was paying before. If you do decide to go with this business anyway, I highly recommend to get EVERYTHING in writing. Do not believe a word they say. Also, the building my stuff was stored in there had constant issues with the electronic door (to get in and out of the building) and we have been stuck inside and had to wait for help from one of the employees to open it. For anyone reading this that is already a customer of Extra Storage Space, remember in the state of Washington storage unit facilities are legally required to provide at least 60 days written notice before increasing rent. Know your rights!!!! EDIT: the business has now responded with more BS and lies. You do not strive to provide clear communication. At first it was simple, easy process to sign up. Our rate went up 2x. Way to expensive for what you are getting. Can be crowded and hard to get parking or get a cart. Elevators have been broken down mutiple times. And since "fixed" the elevator takes 5-10 secs to realize it's on the floor you need to be on at open it's doors. Now trying to get out the storage space and get a pro rated monthly charge. The office manager is rude and does not care and does not want to help. We asked for his supervisor and will not give the contact information nor any information. Gives excuses to keep your money.He says the opposite from what the customers service reps said.
