While the staff is incredibly nice their corporate pricing practices are horrible. They move you in and step increase your rate over time. I feel like it is taking advantage of the fact that people don't want to move an entire storage unit because it is a lot of work. They have increased the price of my 10x15 to 239 and the advertised rate for the unit is less than 150. I understand prices fluctuate but the price I'm paying should be the going rate. I only wanted to write this review to warn people of the practice so they can find a place with more stable pricing that will not take advantage of their business. ... Read more

DO NOT RENT FROM VIKING STORAGE! They will raise your rent every 6 months. I had a unit for 8 years. My rent started at 75.00 for a 5 x 10 unit the rent now for this unit is 176.00. Not only is the rent high but the units are not heated and poorly lit. Also the enterence gate is open most of the time when it's suppose to secured. Since my rent went so high I went to Narrows Storage down the street. Their units are cheaper, cleaner, well lighted, easy access. And they require no insurance. My advise is don't waste your money or time at Viking go to Narrows Storage. ... Read more

I recently retired from the military and had to find storage for my family of five. I called every facility within 10 miles of me, and happened upon Viking Storage. Not only were the prices the best for a large 10'x30' unit, but the customer service was top notch! I called on a Friday morning and agreed to meet Staci, the Manager of Viking, at 3:00 in the afternoon. Things came up and I didn't arrive until almost 7:00. I didn't realize the office was about to close, so I apologized for being late and offered to return Monday. Staci said she had the time (even though I over heard a call she received to put her dinner plans on hold to assist me) and proceeded to give me a tour of the Facility. (in the pouring rain no less) She discussed security, the excellent hours you can access your unit (6am-10pm) and sign paperwork. When all was said and done, it was after 8:00, and I had a affordable storage unit for my family. If excellent customer service, security and affordable prices are what you want, look no further than Staci and Viking Storage! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Viking Storage - 4819 Almira Drive NE include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 50 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Viking Storage - 4819 Almira Drive NE start from $69 and can go up to $279 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
