Read some helpful reviews of FreeUp Storage at 30460 3rd Avenue, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

I have had a unit with FreeUp for some time now. Today I needed to get the locks changed. Will was the nicest guy. Very respectful, accommodating, and helpful. This storage unit has it all. They are the best priced, best staff, clean and safe units. Absolutely amazing and Will you rock!!! Thank you! ... Read more

First off let me say wow! I was a le to get this storage at a very affordable price, affordable they way storage units should be. So I got this unit because a friend of mine went to jail and I had to clean out his apartment. I needed to put it in a storage unit but I couldn’t get there until after they closed. I filled out the paperwork online so I called to see if I would be able at access the unit after they closed. Laura helped me and she was more than accommodating. I was able to send her a copy of my ID and she sent me my access code. Thank you Laura for all your amazing help! ... Read more

Just rented a unit here and was really impressed with the customer service. The site manager wasn’t available so we used the kiosk to speak to a “virtual manager”. I was expecting AI, but was surprised to see CeeCee, a real, live person, appear on screen. CeeCee patiently answered all my questions, gave us access to the facility so we could view the unit, and walked me through the rental process in real time. I often find virtual customer service to be a source of frustration. But when you combine technology with real people like CeeCee, it’s a game changer. ... Read more

This is a beautiful place. Prices and discounts are reasonable. I had high hopes for this place, sadly between the rolling gate not working, never closing causing concern for safety which we pay for along with the lack of lights in my building for 2 weeks at this point, and lack of help, concern and dismissal from Kathy. Customer care goes along way. I've had nothing but horrible interactions. I've addressed my concerns about the gate and lights and my safety concerns and I'm blown off. Quality customer care goes along way and I've not received that sadly. ... Read more

In response to the company reply: First off, this wasn’t even my unit—it was my Uncle’s. I was there with him through everything he went through dealing with y’all. After all that mess, he not even there no more. He packed up and left, and honestly, I don’t blame him. The fact y’all can sit up here and respond to a review by basically calling folks liars instead of addressing the real issue just proves the point. Y’all ain’t tryna fix nothing—you just worried about covering for bad management. It’s sad, because instead of doing better, you’d rather gaslight folks and defend poor and racist behavior. That tells me all I need to know about how y’all run things. Ain’t no accountability, just excuses. So yeah, I’m standing on what I said. I wouldn’t recommend this place to nobody. I'm dropping a star due to lack of accountability and trying to call customers, future and past, liars. Man, I second the review on Michelle. I don’t even know where to start with her. She got this nasty attitude like she too good to help anybody. Real disrespectful, like she don’t care one bit about the people coming in. My cousin got a unit at another one of their spots out here in Washington, and she straight up heard Michelle saying some racial stuff. She even left a review trying to let the company know what was going on, but nobody ever hit her back. Like, they just brushed it off. I guess since Michelle in management, she feel like she can do whatever she want—but real talk, a manager supposed to be the one fixing problems, not causing them. She don’t respect the role or the people. It’s just ugly energy all around. I’m not gonna lie, the actual facility aint bad, so I’ll give credit where it’s due. But Michelle talking to people like they beneath her and acts like helping you is some big inconvenience, that's not cool. ... Read more

I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude for dearest Cathy. What a blessing she is. I must admit, I had a rather upsetting experience in the recent past with employee Michele. I'm not one to complain often, but I truly felt dismissed and disrespected. It reached a point where I even considered packing up and moving out, which is not something I say lightly at my age. She seemed far more interested in her dang phone than in helping me or addressing me or my concerns. I thought about reporting it, but I honestly didn’t feel it would make a difference, so I let it go. Thankfully, I returned during one of Cathy’s shifts, and oh, what a difference she made. That sweet woman was kind, attentive, and made me feel heard, something I hadn’t felt in a while. She reminded me there are still good-hearted people in this world, and she renewed my trust in this place. Thank you, Cathy. I truly hope someone in charge sees this and understands what a treasure they have in you. I do hope I see more of you in the future, and if I may say so, I’d be just fine never crossing paths with that Michele again. ... Read more

After changes this past year, there is no human presence or even phone customer service and everything is automated. Prices have continued to increase and even after making a monthly paymentay on day 4, they send messages they are going to overlock your unit for being late. I do not recommend this place at all. ... I have had a storage unit for almost a year. The storage unit and building itself is wonderful. What was not wonderful, is that they raised my unit rental price after only 6 months. They didn't even wait a full year. I walk past A LOT of open units to get to mine at the very back of the building. When checking online there are units closer to the elevators that are the same price they are now charging me. This is not a good way to keep existing customers. ... Read more

O’Shea was the customer service representative that assisted my daughter and I with selecting a storage unit. He was very knowledgeable about the various questions that we needed answers to. Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at FreeUp Storage - 30460 3rd Avenue include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by FreeUp Storage - 30460 3rd Avenue start from $21 and can go up to $483 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
