I’ve been renting from them the past year with a steady $10/ a month. This is the only reason I’ve been renting from them. Out of the blue they raised my rent to $40 without notice. I had to switch units when I found the same deal I had on another unit (just down from current unit). They really need to be letting customers know they will be having a $30 increase on their monthly bill! Also, why?? You had the same deal on other units! I’ve also rented storage from them multiple times over the years and not once has anyone been in the office when I am moving in (had access issues a few times and needed to have someone help me in person). You have to go through this lame process of calling their corporate line (which is computer system) to get directed to their property manager. Why can’t they just have someone IN the office AND the actual phone number for the property you are renting from instead of the irritating computer you have to call? Angel was amazing though (I give her 5 stars!) and helped me get the storage unit transferred over seamlessly. Wonderful customer service! Thank you again, Angel! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 8 16th Street NW include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Elevators, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 20 to 250 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 8 16th Street NW start from $42 and can go up to $236 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
