???????????????????? Angel is an excellent manager here at Public Storage in Auburn. She went out of her way to leave me a clear and detailed message after I returned a lock on day one, and that kind of acknowledgment really stood out to me. It’s rare to see that level of professionalism and care. Her communication made the whole experience simple and stress-free. Angel truly goes above and beyond, and she’s the reason I’d recommend not only this Auburn location, but Public Storage in general to anyone looking for storage wherever they need it. ... Read more

I've always passed up public storage in the past for a number of reasons but this time I took a chance because of their stellar online deal move in for 1$. My email receipt said total cost to move in was really gonna be 30$ not really a dollar !! And then once I arrived to pay the total move in cost became 68 $ because there's no mention of insurance costs or the 20$ lock they provide. All n all 68$ wasn't 200$ it was gonna cost me other places so I didn't care but I thought I'd better mention these costs since they don't until you arrive. I give them 5 stars because the lady behind the counter her name is angel and she was super pleasant and informative best of all was the app I can pretty much handle everything from my phone now from paying the bill to opening the gate. I will recommend public storage in the future and use them again myself ... Read more

Angel was very good she deserves 5 stars. However, in trying to drop the insurance it was painful you can’t get a person on the phone to save your life. If it was this hard not to get the insurance imagine how hard it would be to file a claim. No thank you my homeowners will do. The insurance part of this review 1 star. So thanks to Angel three was given and not 1. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1801 R Street SE include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 30 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1801 R Street SE start from $57 and can go up to $243 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
