Had a unit (5x10; inside) that was so damp that it molded many of my possessions, as well as the walls and door to the unit inside. They also continued to charge me $15 month after providing proof of insurance through another carrier for their special insurance. When I called back a second time to ask why I was being charged they told me it was because they never received proof. I sent it again, and made them stay on the phone to verify receipt. Once they got it I asked if they could refund one month of $15 charges since it was apparent that I was insured elsewhere during the time they charged me (and that I had already attempted to send proof once before). They told me they don't give refunds, asked to escalate, but did not get it resolved. I found another storage unit provider. No one on site to talk to, calling seems to get you nowhere. Do not recommend. ... Read more

Paid them when was late to get red lock off. Two days later new red lock was on, hours in hold and multiple phone calls later the second red lock was finally removed after costing me two days off work due to their own clerical error. Did they refund my missed work tine with my tools locked in their unit? NO Did they apologize for their error or waiting my time? NO Did they still make it a difficult process and make me drive there to send pics of the lock and unit number to remover the lock that shouldn't have been there? YES they did. But on the plus side the staff was rude and accused me of verbal abuse for wanting the lock off a unit that was paid for and their own mistake after multiple phone calls. Don't ask fir an employees name either or they will just hang up. ... Read more

Had issues getting in. Had to call and have them reset their system so we could get in the 1st time. That took 10 minutes to even get someone on the phone. Then they took another almost 15 to figure out the issue. Took several hours after the call for the code to work. Which we rented it online and even waited a could hours to go do it, so time shouldn't have been an issue. The building STINKS like mildew. They give you a lock and text you the code. Which means they also have the code. No wonder they are cheaper than the others. No privacy and basically no customer service to help. ... Read more

I am in the service so I needed to store some stuff there to get picked up by the moving company at a later time. In that sense, the 5x10 unit I rented for a single month did the trick just fine. Nothing fancy but it's a storage unit facility so it's just about what you'd expect. I will say that the staff is incredible!!! They really go out of their way to make sure you're taken care of and I commend them for that. Anyway, the moving company came by the facility with my releasing agent. I get an email a day later saying that someone tailgated on my account and was informed that if it happens again it's a $50 penalty. I told Jack Rabbit that the moving company needed to access the facility beforehand so I don't understand why I got this message. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 360 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Jack Rabbit Storage - 109 North Birdneck Road start from $31 and can go up to $362 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
