    Beware before renting here. If you’re placed in a top unit, be aware that it is not covered, and your belongings are left exposed. On top of that, management is unreliable and unprofessional. There are days when no one is available on-site, or the manager is out taking smoke breaks, leaving customers without assistance. When I raised concerns, the manager was condescending and rude instead of helpful. The bathrooms are filthy and unsanitary—feces in the toilet, urine on the floor, and no proper cleaning. If you require ADA accessibility, prepare for constant issues. Elevators are often out of order, and liquid slip hazards are left unattended, creating serious safety risks. I’ve requested multiple times to speak with a Regional Manager, but my concerns have been ignored. Excuses are made, but no real solutions are offered. This facility shows zero commitment to cleanliness, safety, or customer service. I cannot recommend this location to anyone who values their property or their safety. ... Read more

    While SSP was great a couple of years ago, unfortunately the quality of service has gone down as of recent. 1) My most recent renewal increased almost 50% in price which is absurd. 2) I used to get price increase notices by email, not any more. I received a physical mail notice two weeks before the payment due date. 3) I used to be able to pay a year in advance. Now I can only do so for 6 months, risking more frequent increases in rent. 4) You have to pay a $5 fee to pay online. If your unit costs $50, that's paying extra 10% for nothing. Any company that does this indicates greed to me. 5) Staff used to be much friendlier and more helpful. They seemed to have moved onto better prospects as they no longer seem to be employed here. When I needed help, the man who works here wanted to finish making his rounds in the building so I had to wait. 5) I emailed the address provided by the owner in other reviews.     Today was first day I accessed my storage unit. I rented the unit on line and that was easy enough. When I arrived to unload the trailer and SUV full of stuff, I found that only one of the two elevators was working. Of course, the working elevator was at the other end of the building. So, I start lugging my stuff to the only working elevator and all is going as planned. I get half my load up to the storage unit and the only working elevator fails. Other tenants tell me the emergency number was contacted and they say a technician will be send out. But, they don't give any idea of when.     Place is terrible. They don't tell you that the price will increase every few months when you get your unit without warning. (If Netflix or Google increases the price they tell you ahead. This place just charges your CC without saying anything. Unit started off at $25 now I'm up to $65. The clerk tells me to just move my stuff if I don't like the increases. But I'm overseas.     It is very unprofessional to avoid customer phone calls And ignore them. The fact that I cannot get in touch by the phone with somebody to pay my rent and now I have to pay a late fee. And when I do the automated service, it does not let me pick an amount to pay. I either have to pay full amount or multiple months.     We had the pleasure of being in Springfield, Virginia today, and had some business at self storage plus. What an amazing experience! The general manager, Sarah Cox is one of the most personable, friendly people we have had the opportunity to meet. Also, her facility and grounds were super clean!     Last year I was looking for a place to store my things until I find another apartment, so I found this place with great reviews and very good prices. Other places I visited were older and seemed dirty but not this one. This one is recently new, its location is very helpful for people in the northern Virginia area. It is located right out of 395 (the highway). This a great place, the staff is very friendly and very professional. There’s a lady there that is always willing to help in everything. She is always smiling and greeting customers with a great attitude!! When we had questions at the beginning they always answered our doubts. The office is very clean, as well as the storage units. I always find carts to help me move my things and there’s always plenty of parking when I have visited. When the office is closed at night and on the weekends after hours I’ve never had a problem getting into the unit, the gate always opens with no issues and the door to get into the building works well too.
