Facility and unit was below industry standards. Facility office was not open during normal business hours, and hours were not posted on office door or windows. Unit door was rusty and hard to open. Unit floor was cracked and broken with pits in the concrete where moisture seeped up through the floor. No visible cameras on units for security. Rent increased by over 50% in 5 months. And this company gave a LOT of money, money we gave them as renters, to far right groups aiming to take away our constitutional rights. And as other people have mentioned the amenities for different facilities aren't listed so you don't know what you get until you show up to move in. There's nobody there to give you a tour first and they don't answer the phone. All of these recent reviews about the friendliness of the staff are obviously fake, not even sure if there is staff. ... First of all, they’re website say all units are climate controlled on website yet they didn’t specify exclusions based on locations. I found out my unit was outdoors on day of move. Secondly, a lot of my stuff, valuables and antiques got damaged due to water damage. There were pools of water everywhere. The unit was raised a couple inches but the unit still had a leak. Third and most importantly their insurance company “Orange door” is the worst. I have had the worst experience compensated for my losses. There has been zero communication. I have emailed, called, used their bare bones portal, and left multiple voicemails. I have no idea what is going on with my losses. They should be out of business. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. I fault Public Storage for having the worst insurance company with the poorest business practices I have ever experienced. If I could give zero stars I would. Please don’t make the same mistake I made by choosing Public Storage. Go anywhere else. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1717 Bloom Lane include the following amenities: Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, Keyless Unit Access, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage and Online Payment. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1717 Bloom Lane start from $50 and can go up to $214 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
