Incredibly disappointed with their service. They drafted an unauthorized payment when I was supposed to have a free month. I’ve been trying for four weeks now to get a refund. Originally I was told a check would be mailed to me… That seems terribly inconvenient and inconsiderate considering it was their acknowledged error. No response to my emails, no check. I sent them a final email requesting a response or I would take other matters. I was told it would be looked into and someone were to get back to me. That was six days ago. I would not trust this business. I will get my money back, eventually. But the time I’ve had to waste is ridiculous. And if you are the owner/manager, don’t bother responding to this review. It would be insulting as you couldn’t bother to respond to my emails. ... Read more

I rented two large units to store my belongings while I was overseas for 12 years. The people who first ran it were mostly nice and pleasant. However, the current person running it is not at all helpful. After being a loyal customer who always paid a year in advance, I was treated like a piece of dirt when I wanted to take my items out upon returning to the US. I tried to reach them ahead of time to tell them I was closing the storage unites, but neither telephone nor email was acknowledged. Upon arriving in town the day before moving everything out, I was promised I would not be assessed rent for the month of March, if I made a donation to their cat fund. It took me two months to get the refund due me and I was not refunded for March (and I was only in the units for a couple days in March). The person running the place acted like he was offended when I contacted State officials and the Better Business Bureau. I'm sure he would not have accepted a late payment of two months from me! On top of all that, I read online that the company gives a discount to seniors. I rented the place for three years without that discount. ... Read more

Affordable. Clean. Conveniently located. Indoor storage which should be a plus except the roof leaks in many different locations through out the building. Management keeps promising to fix the leak but doesn't. If you rent here make sure you cover your items or they will get wet. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Blue-Gray Self Storage - 2501 Gayton Centre Drive include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Truck Rentals, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Multi-Level Storage and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 300 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Blue-Gray Self Storage - 2501 Gayton Centre Drive start from $55 and can go up to $231 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
