Read some helpful reviews of 10 Federal Storage at 9120 West Broad Street, shared by real renters with genuine experiences and honest opinions.

Very easy to reserve online and get access to the storage and gate even after business hours. This is the only storage that I am aware of that has 24 hour access in my area. the cut off time at the gate is 10pm everywhere else that I've rented storage space from. I made a mistake when reserving the storage space online. and they cleared it up for me with no hassle at all. This is by far the best experience I've had with a self storage facility and they have great promo deals right now. My storage area was clean and easy to access. I highly recommend! ... Read more

You know the reviews are bogus when they have 160 x 4 to 5 star reviews when they just took ownership and rebranded in the last few days. They took out all the keypads and now only have a QR code to get in and out which doesn’t appear to work, and the phone number doesn’t work after hours. Got locked in with another customer and thankfully Henrico PD blessed off on us disassembling part of the gate to get out after an hour so of unsuccessful attempts to access the system themselves. So yeah, good job 10 Fed. ... Read more

Now that Public Storage has merged over to 10 federal storage without my knowledge, I am ready to vacate. I completely despise how they have their systems set up for customers. It is not effective or efficient. You cannot speak with a live person. It sends you to a voicemail. The online is not a set up for someone that doesn’t have computer skills and it takes a week after you’ve attempted to contact multiple numbers. I called over 10 times and still no return call. The system is set up for late fees to be added to your account before the date overall I have attempted to contact someone in reference to my monthly statement which not to mention has went up $100 twice so I’m now paying $400 a month for a 8 x 11 unit horrible experience, and I definitely will be vacating. This company is unorganized, unethical, unprofessional, overall corrupt. ... Read more

Modern example of right hand doesn't know what left is doing. I vacated my unit before my bill was due, informed company via phone call and 3 weeks later, I'm getting calls, texts and emails that my bill is due. No matter how many times I call or who I talk to, no resolution. ... Read more

Make sure you open and close doors to see if they function correctly, my storage unit door was damaged since day 1, we didnt notice till after, they wanted to give me another one after I had already organized everything In there. They took my lock off for a late payment I made, and now I'm more behind payments as they ridiculously Increased my price from $140 to $258 and with late fees it's $53 and keeps increasing. Being that they alert you on putting your stuff on Auction even if you make partial payments. I regret coming to this place, we are always afraid of coming there n not finding our belongings. It makes it harder to keep up with payments as it keeps going up higher n higher every month. There's other places I searched n their prices stay the same thru out the whole time. When I called customer service they said the property manager is allowed to increase prices for maintaining the place, so basically it comes from our pocket to fix their place up. ... Read more

Amazing customer service at the 9120 W. Broad St location. Jawaan helped to get us the best location and a great deal for our storage needs. Adam jumped in with great energy to make sure we got what we needed. They were both super nice and helpful throughout. Edited to 4 stars: I was charged twice and struggled to get someone on the line after several tries to explain the charges, despite leaving a message for a property manager. The general public storage customer number - to speak to an agent - was also challenging to find. When I reached them were helpful and revealed a credit on my account that you can’t see in the app that I was asked to download. Not the best post-transaction service. I would recommend making the app more robust for transparency and creating less steps to reach a human to resolve issues. inconvenient after thinking everything was appropriately squared away. ... I have multiple units and this is my favorite location! I called in today with questions about auto-pay, Kevin and Trevor were extremely helpful! Lol I think they noticed my sense of urgency while calling from work. They were kind and assisted me immediately. I received a confirmation email as soon as the call ended, and I returned to work shortly after. I appreciate you guys for providing the customer service I REALLY needed today! No hassle, direct communication, and solved my issues in a timely manner. Keep up the great work! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at 10 Federal Storage - 9120 West Broad Street include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, 24 hour access, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Unstaffed Location, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
