Bait and switch- rented a 10 by 10 unit which upon move in is shown in the photo with mold and water damage. Was offered a larger unit for the same price since no other 10 by 10 units were available. Less than 3 months later, get an email that rent is going up by over $100 which now makes the rent price to be the actual full going rate for the larger unit. Fraudulent practices and no calls back from management and no one in the physical office most of the time. Don’t rent from Public Storage. ... Read more

The first few attempts for us to get into a unit there were unsuccessful and beyond frustrating to get in touch with someone in person. We weren't the only ones in the office with a similar issue. Peter made a rough starting point completely disappear by working around some time constraints and the holiday. He listened to what we needed. Public Storage you need to reward Peter for a handling a situation that would have gotten out of control if someone else was in that spot. Great job Peter! ... Read more
Jeffrey C. - 4 December 2024
The location is convenient, but property management aggressively raises prices on the storage units every 3 months, so if you plan to store something for a year plan on costs more than doubling over your lease. For example, if you are getting a $100 unit expecting an increase to $190 and then $260, all rapidly happening every 3 months. Factor that into your cost planning. No ability to call and speak with the property management, just automated menus and you can leave a voicemail. ... Read more

Ms.Rosa was super helpful and extremely kind. She went above and beyond, explained everything in terms of lease including insurance benefits, walked me around the facilities, showed me all the easy access to my storage units. I would highly recommend Rosa, she is absolutely amazing! ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Public Storage - 1751 Old Meadow Road include the following amenities: Climate-Controlled, Indoor, Drive-Up Access, Retail Available, Onsite Manager, Contactless Renting, Security Camera, Gate, Parking, Credit Cards Accepted, First Floor Access, Multi-Level Storage, Online Payment and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

This particular storage facility provides self storage units of different sizes, ranging from 25 to 200 square feet. Space is not an issue! If you have more belongings to store, or simply bulkier items or even vehicles, you should go for larger storage units.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Monthly prices for units offered by Public Storage - 1751 Old Meadow Road start from $48 and can go up to $670 for larger spaces.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
