You will get your stuff stolen. VT student here. Left my stuff here over the summer, locked got smashed off early June, wasn’t contacted or notified by the owners of the storage units. Everything not stolen was trashed or broken. They did it quick and knew what was valuable (they have and will do this a lot). They really didn’t seem to care when I told them and they acted weird when I asked about camera footage. I asked if this happened before and they said it did a year ago and if you check the reviews here there was another break in 3 years ago as well as a coworker telling me someone tried to break into his locker using a saw. And even then they make no effort to improve security. Place used to be a chicken coop, very dirty and smells bad, not worth the price. ... Read more

Storage unit was broken into and a few thousands of dollars worth of items were stolen. VTech students shared rental of a unit to store their items for the summer to come back in the fall to many items missing. Cameras are only live, do not record so there is no way to track down the robber. Lock was cut. Plus, mice droppings and ants in the unit. Very run- down property. ... Read more

The old woman working the night of March 30, 2019 around 7:30p.m. was very rude, disrespectful and beyond unprofessional. If I could give a 0 star rating,, I would. So bad I am collecting everything I have in storage unit there and getting one elsewhere, or cramming it all in my house. Anything is better than the disrespect that woman threw my direction. ... Read more

Frequently Asked Questions

Storage units available at Common Wealth Storage - 344 Jennelle Road include the following amenities: Drive-Up Access, Onsite Manager, Parking, Enclosed, Multi-Level Storage and RV Storage. Depending on what you need to put away in storage, you can discover there are some things you absolutely need, so make sure you check with the facility manager that you'll find everything you need on site.

You already know how much stuff you need to put in self storage, so figuring out the unit size you need is the next step. Smaller units such as 5'x5' or 5'x10' spaces can usually be filled with the amount of items you would normally store in a closet: a few chairs and lamps, sports equipment, garden tools and some boxes.

Moving on to larger sizes, imagine the 10'x10' and 10'x15' units as similar to a bedroom or a living room – larger pieces of furniture, sturdier equipment and bicycles can fit here. Finally, a 10'x20' unit has enough space for the contents of a 3-bedroom house, while the larger 10'x30' space easily accommodates the contents of a loaded semi-truck.

Accessibility and quickness are key when it comes to storage, so drive-up storage units are generally regarded as very convenient. Pull your car right up to your storage space, load, unload, and you're good to go! However, if you're mostly storing temperature-sensitive items, you should rather consider indoor storage units.

Climate-controlled units maintain consistent temperatures and humidity levels all year round, making them perfect for all your sensitive items. Moisture and varying temperatures can damage a whole host of things, and that is why a lot of people choose to use climate-controlled units to store items like wooden furniture, electronics, artwork, documents and photographs, collectibles, antiques, etc. If the belongings you're storing are important to you, you should consider renting a climate-controlled unit.
